According to results of exit polls conducted during the second circular of the Romanian presidential election on 18 May 2025, Nicușor Dan won 54.1% of the vote and George Simion 45.9%. This data came from a survey conducted by the CURS institute. another sources specified as Avangarde indicate somewhat higher support for Dan – 54.9%, with 45.1% for Simion.

However, it is worth noting that exit poll does not include the votes cast by Romanian diaspora, which recorded evidence attendance in these elections – over 1.6 million votes. Nicușor Dan, born December 20, 1969 in Făgărașu, is simply a mathematician, social activist and politician who has served as mayor of Bucharest since 2020. His way from an outstanding student especially in mathematics to 1 of the key figures of the Romanian political scene demonstrates his determination and commitment to public affairs.

As early as his youth, Dan displayed extraordinary mathematical abilities, winning gold medals at the 1987 and 1988 global Mathematics Olympiad. After completing his mathematical studies at the University of Bucharest, he continued his education in France, where he obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Paris 13. His technological work focused on the explanation of analytical functions and algebraic geometry.

After returning to Romania in 1998, he became active in social activities, establishing the Association “Salvați Bucureștiul”, which aimed at protecting the architectural heritage of the capital and preventing illegal construction investments.
