Saturday, July 12 in Domastawa was mainly thanks To the Social Building Committee of the Monument “The Volynian Sculpture” celebrations commemorating Polish victims of Ukrainian genocide in Volyn and the east Borderlands. Hundreds of people from all over Poland appeared at ceremonies which in 82nd anniversary of "Blood Sunday" And the bestial execution on our countrymen, for the first time in past was celebrated as a state holiday. Despite many rumors, no of the government officials attended the celebrations.
The monument “The Volyn Castle” by Andrzej Pityński It's truly awesome live. Despite the "controversy" with its location, he finds his place and has become a reason for the president, who is simply a servant of a nation from outside our east border, to yet honor the Poles who were murdered and to commemorate these terrible events, establishing them as a day of national remembrance. Of course, there was no president, both the incumbent and the future, which only clearly proves itself.
Official celebrations are besides a kind of political fashion revue and an chance to show themselves to those who, as usually happens, become very curious in the issue. It was no different in this case. It is worth noting, however, that in Domastawa there were besides those who, despite force from all sides, had not faithfully laid down their weapons for years. Among them it is worth mentioning Dr. Lucyna Kulińska, Tadeusz Samborski, Witold Listowski, Katarzyna Sokołowski, Jack Międlar, Zbigniew Walczak, Witold Zych And many others.
He besides appeared Grzegorz Braunwho arrived at the ceremony with the full parliamentary ellipse of the Confederation of the Polish Crown. The politician had the chance to address participants who chanted his name and name respective times during earlier speeches. The MEP stressed that it was time for Poles to take matters into their own hands and not let others compose our communicative anymore. He stated that as a nation, we should leave Domostawa rich in fresh experiences and begin to constitute ourselves, without which we will never be truly an independent nation. It is worth noting that in the course of the speech, Grzegorz Braun publically claimed prisoners in custody Wojciech Olszański and Marcin Osadowski emphasizing the absurdity of the charges against them and citing democratic rules that are allegedly respected in Poland.
Besides politicians, the event attracted quite a few people from all over the country, but not only. There were quite a few people, and the atmosphere was unusual. It was possible to feel a kind of familiarity and naturalness. Camper trailers and "camps" around which they carried the proponents of individual organisations and associations, as well as the clothing of any participants who resembled representatives of uniformed services added a unique character. You could meet mishmas of different environments, including: Nationals of Kamrats, the Watah of the Civic Voice, the Movement of Defending the Polish Border, smaller and larger organisations with national orientation, as well as representatives of independent media, publishers and writers to whom real crowds drew to supply interesting literature. There was besides excellent food from local residents.
Many people who participated in the unveiling of the monument in Domastawa, in 2024, mention that in terms of attendance Saturday celebrations do not suit those that took place a year ago. Well, possibly it's the consequence of an effort to politicize the event and embrace it with honorary patronage. Karol NawrockiWho abruptly remembered the victims of Ukrainian genocide at the end of his campaign? How about the aftermath of a complete conflict that, as shortly as it takes place, always mobilizes the masses to act? In any case, the monument of Andrzej Pityński and Domastaw itself became a kind of symbol, which will always commemorate not only our savagely murdered ancestors, but besides Poles, who fought so hard to cultivate this memory of them properly.
