On Monday January 26th this year police officers from the Oława region Police Station Stop A 25-year-old Ukrainian citizen who has been notoriously breaking the law for a long time and posing a threat to public policy. After the capture, she was handed over to Border defender officers who initiated administrative proceedings against her. The consequence is the decision to oblige a female to leave the territory of the Republic of Poland, or deportation.
The Ukrainian female was a panic in Oława. Police confirmed that a 25-year-old girl had respective misdemeanors in her account – most of them afraid crimes against property and acts of a socially burdensome nature. Officers had repeatedly intervened against her before, besides in connection with shoplifting, disorderly conduct, and in the last year she was brought to the sobering home respective times. These circumstances made the service a real threat to the residents.
The Border defender has initiated an administrative procedure aimed at making a formal decision to oblige the foreigner to return. In the Polish legal system, violations of law, deficiency of legality of residence or threat to safety and public order are the basis for specified a procedure. This procedure ends with an administrative decision, which, after finalization, obliges the foreigner to leave Poland within a certain period.
These cases fall within the broader trend of migration and border services in Poland. In 2025 the Border defender issued over 9.4 1000 decisions requiring foreigners to leave Poland, of which a crucial part afraid alleged "war refugees" from Ukraine.
According to statistic in early 2026, forced return decisions were made against foreigners who posed a threat to safety and public order, committed multiple violations of the law or were repeat offenders.
The decisions on deportation, especially towards Ukrainian citizens, provoke emotions and broad public debate in Poland. any commentators stress the request to keep public order and security, indicating that the law applies to all – regardless of nationality. Others point out the request for a delicate approach to “war refugees” whose presence in Poland is due to the conflict in Ukraine and the mass resettlement of the population.
This case of a 25-year-old deported from Poland is an example of how Polish migration and border services respond to people who repeatedly break the law and endanger public order. In the context of an expanding number of decisions requiring foreigners to return, specified cases point to the continuation of a migration policy, where emphasis is placed on public safety and law enforcement, including towards foreigners.
It is simply a pity that alternatively of heroically deporting these people in 2026, in 2022 the mechanics of letting them into Poland was introduced without any verification, of which the COPIS authorities were proud.
