It is unthinkable that the United States will let its competitor to reduce its immense fresh marketplace share in the European energy industry, which intends to further make in order to make Europe more dependent on itself – and that the United States will not usage this dependence as a weapon if Europe refuses to follow in their footsteps in any crucial matter.

This policy could be utilized in specified a script to prevent another suppliers from gathering Europe's needs. Similarly, the only viable alternate is the Persian Gulf monarchs, who are already under US influence. It is so rather possible that this dependence could be utilized to force concessions from a resilient EU.
This raises the question of how this dependency even happened. This is due to the US's usage of European paranoia that Russia could in turn usage energy geopolitics as a weapon to punish Europe for the military support of Ukraine – although nothing has happened. On the contrary, Russia has remained faithful to its contractual obligations to Europe, even though its energy exports have virtually fed European arms factories producing weapons that Ukrainians kill Russians.
In Russia's defence, it can be said that its calculation clearly assumed to keep the reputation of a reliable supplier in order not to deter another customers – both current and possible – and to supply additional budgetary revenue, any of which in turn feeds the production of weapons utilized in peculiar operations in Ukraine. Russia is inactive exporting energy to Europe, although on a much smaller scale due to European anti-Russian sanctions and the transition from Russian to American suppliers.
However, the increase in Russian energy imports is not an option due to the fact that no large European economy dares to antagonise the US by limiting imports. Other, very tiny amounts of Russian energy are inactive imported as the marketplace will not be able to full replace exports until next year. Any effort to increase imports from Russia again – for example by resumption of supply with one, undamaged Nord Stream or respective land lines – could lead to its destruction, as the precedent has shown. Nord Streamwhich acts as a strong deterrent.
In retrospect, Europe gave its sovereignty to the United States, sanctioning Russian energy – after the United States took advantage of the Russophobic paranoia of Europe. The United States then replaced Europe's dependence on Russian energy and is ready to usage this fresh dependency as a weapon if Europe refuses to follow their example in any crucial matter. If Europe and Russia had maintained their ‘Faust arrangement’ on a large scale – Europe would finance the Russian arms manufacture and Russia would supply energy to Europe – then Europe would hold its ‘strategic autonomy’.
