On Sunday, the warehouse hall in Tarnów Podgórny in Wielkopolska burned down. An object of 11,000 square meters was filled with packages of a shipping company. The fire expert estimated that the origin of the fire may have been batteries in 1 of the shipments for electrical scooters.
The fire broke out around 6:36 p.m. – Upon arrival, it turned out that the full building was under fire “Sp. Marcin Tecław, spokesperson for the Poznań Fire Department, said in an interview with TVN24. About 200 firefighters took part in the fire extinguishing action lasting respective twelve hours.
Fortunately, no 1 got hurt in the event. The firemen managed to save the office part and respective semitrailers parked at the hall. – The steel structure of the building was destroyed. The fire lost its burden capacity. The hall was entirely filled with packages of shipping company. Various materials were to be repacked – Asp. Teclaw reported. Inside the facility were besides forklifts and propane-butane gas cylinders.
The following day, an inspection of the scene took place involving a fire-fighting expert. It excluded the participation of 3rd parties and considered that batteries for electrical scooters in 1 of the shipments were a possible origin of the fire. In his opinion, there was a battery ignition. – Police determined that the shipment was from Germany and was to be sent to a company from Mazowsza, in charge of repair and maintenance of batteries said PAP Iwona Liszczyńska from the press office of the Wielkopolska police.
The failure value is inactive being determined, but as Radio Poznań reported, the hall manager initially assessed it at PLN 100–200 million.
Now the D.A. decides on further steps in the investigation.
