Almost half of Poles live from first to first.
According to RMF's online radio service, the fresh study "Poles own wallet: sparing like Pole" brings unsavory news. The study was prepared by the Institute for marketplace and Social investigation (IBRiS) on behalf of Santander Consumer Bank.
49% of respondents say they live from pay to pay, and the current needs absorb all their earnings. They have nothing to spare. Only 25% of those surveyed can afford to spend their current expenses and to save their remaining amounts regularly each month.
The worst is the situation of pensioners. 2 thirds of them spend all of their current income within a month. Young people, on the another hand, have the highest percent of those who are completely destitute before their next pay. 24% of 20-year-olds and 26% of 30-year-olds benefit from the aid of their household or another relatives. 7% regularly borrow money from the family, and in the 18-29 age group the percent of specified people is 15%. In turn, 6% feel that without the aid of their loved ones they would not be able to support themselves. This rate increases to 14% in the young adults group.
