Last September and January of the current year, the Warsaw Enterprise Institute conducted a survey on 1061 Poles, in which respondents were to mention to eight, allegedly consistent with the Kremlin's message. What were these terrible Moscow thesis? For example, refugees from Ukraine are actually economical immigrants. Or that we should not support Ukraine until it is cut off from the Volyn crime headed by its authors and performers. The Russian thought is to say rather clearly that we should strive for peace, even if it involves territorial concessions from Ukraine. Or 1 to halt delivering weapons to Ukraine due to the fact that it sets the conflict on fire.
Poles answered all these questions and no of the answers liked the questioners. It turned out, for example, that 63% of respondents agree that Poland cannot afford alleged refugees. More than half of Poles believe that helping Ukraine will not end, that we will be active in many years of armed conflicts. On the another hand, 40% of us see the increasing Ukrainianization of Poland, which destroys our culture and society.
The survey saw the light of day, followed immediately by howling. “The number of people who share the Russian propaganda is increasing!” - unanimously brave media officers from both sides of the fake barricade. In a monogram. For even the bravest of party-state propaganda and the most troubled of the corruptions of advancement realize that it is essential to disagree in all matters of trivial and even the secondary majority. The crucial thing has happened here. The Poles ceased to consume the propaganda mush which they were pushing.
Perhaps the increasingly empty pockets, possibly the increasingly annoying vicinity of fresh arrivals, or possibly the fear of the future of our families has awakened us from lethargy. Of course not everyone, most likely not even the majority. But adequate to endanger the warm, stinky stableness in which political parasites and their media workers have been swimming for decades.
Hence the senseless, demeaning logic and decency of the attack. Hence rage and rage. For any view may be expressed in the discussion on Poland, provided that this is simply a congruent view with the mostly accepted view. As shortly as individual breaks an intrusive mantra imposed on us by outside centers for years, he immediately becomes the subject of a pardonless attack. He is ridiculed, silenced, and in utmost cases persecuted. That's our freedom of speech today. This is Poland today.
In seeking the guilty of this situation, let us have the courage to find ourselves among them. It's our inactivity, it's been decades of civic passivity, which has led to the creation of a vain, parasitic political class, de facto alienated from the body of the nation. Leading us present to another historical disaster.
So it is good that we are slow regaining our senses, but that is not enough. If we want to preserve Poland, we must act. Repeat the real transmission by breaking the media monopoly of the ruling clique. Organize to exert pressure. Do not let Poland to be wasted. For, as Łukasz Jastrzębski late reminded us, Poland is needed. Us and no 1 else. And only we can aid each other.
