More and more Poles decide to usage mobile banking services, which is simply a clear trend in the financial sector. Despite existing criticism of digital payments and the gradual displacement of cash, statistic show that mobile banking is gaining expanding popularity among Poles.
According to a study prepared by the Association of Polish Banks and published by NetB@nk, at the end of 2023 the number of users of banking applications reached an awesome number of 21.7 million. Interestingly, as much as 72% usage mobile banking only, which represents a crucial increase compared to erstwhile quarters.
The dominance of Mobile Banking over the Internet
It should be noted that mobile banking is clearly ahead of online banking. The number of mobile applications users is increasing rapidly, while online banking has only seen a tiny increase, reaching 22.7 million active customers at the end of 2023. Although the difference between the 2 forms of banking is not significant, mobile banking seems to attract more attention from users.
Increasing Popularity in the SME Sector
The trend in digital transformation besides affects the SME sector. Among these companies, 71% of active customers usage online banking, a crucial number of 2.5 million companies. Although the number of accounts with access to electronic banking has increased slightly, this increase shows the increasing importance of digital banking in the business sector.
Dynamics Payments Online
In the 4th fourth of 2023, we observed an increase in the number and value of online transactions. However, account must be taken of the seasonal nature of specified data, linked to the commercial purchasing boom for that period. The increase in the number of transactions on an yearly basis was importantly lower, which shows that trends have stabilised.
The popularity of fast transfers, specified as Express Elixir and Euro Elixir, is besides evident. The number of transactions and the value of transfers carried out is increasing rapidly, an crucial indicator of increasing assurance in modern payment technologies.
In summary, the digital revolution in banking becomes a fact not only in the regular lives of consumers, but besides in the business sector. Mobile banking seems to be at the forefront of this trend, ahead of conventional forms of online banking. The increase in the popularity of online payments and fast transfers proves the dynamic improvement of financial technologies, which make everyday life easier for Poles.
