COLOGNE– Lufthansa (LH) has elevated its first-class experience with an exclusive new cabin interior on long-haul flights. The Allegris First Class cabin now operates on the summer 2025 timetable from Munich (MUC) to San Francisco (SFO), Chicago (ORD), San Diego (SAN), Shanghai (PVG), and Bengaluru (BLR).

Travellers can also experience the new cabin products in Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class on flights to New York (NYC)-Newark (EWR) starting mid-April, with Charlotte (CLT) routes beginning in early August.

Redefining Luxury in the Skies

Since February, 9 A350-900 aircraft featuring the new cabin interior have entered service for Lufthansa (LH), with eight of them offering the new First Class.

Nearly half a million passengers across all travel classes have already experienced the enhanced cabins.

The airline plans to begin retrofitting its existing fleet with Lufthansa (LH) Allegris this year, starting with the Boeing 747-8.

“We are completely reinventing the Lufthansa First Class travel experience with Allegris and making it even more exclusive. Our new First Class, with its unique suites, defines the concept of privacy like never before and is unrivalled worldwide. We are also investing in exclusivity and comfort on the ground by completely redesigning our First Class check-in areas and lounges in Munich and Frankfurt.”

-Jens Ritter, Chief Executive Officer, Lufthansa Airlines

Lufthansa Redesigned First Class

The redesigned First Class introduces three exclusive suite options, including two individual suites and the extraordinary Suite Plus. In the individual suites, guests can personalize their comfort by heating or cooling their almost one-meter-wide seats. These private cabins feature ceiling-high walls with lockable doors, large tables, wide seats, up to 43-inch-wide screens, and wireless “over-ear” headphones, establishing a new benchmark for comfort and individuality.

Passengers benefit from generous storage space in personal wardrobes within the suites, allowing them to change comfortably and keep personal items accessible. Individual lighting options enable travellers to create their preferred ambience during the flight.

The distinctive Suite Plus double cabin offers two wide seats that can transform into a comfortable double bed. This flying private room provides maximum comfort for couples travelling together, while also offering exceptional exclusivity for single travellers who choose to book the double cabin.

The new First Class forms part of Lufthansa’s major premium service initiative, which also includes renovated First Class check-in areas in Frankfurt (FRA) and Munich (MUC), plus a redesigned First Class Lounge at Munich Airport.

Service Improvements

Lufthansa (LH) has implemented sustainable improvements for passengers in all travel classes. Frankfurt (FRA) departures now offer an innovative baggage collection and check-in service. Since last year, travellers have used Apple AirTag location functionality to track their luggage through Lufthansa’s digital baggage tracing channels.

Beginning this summer, Lufthansa will provide unlimited free chatting on intercontinental flights. Passengers in all travel classes can send and receive unlimited messages, including photos, using familiar apps on their smartphones or tablets during flights.

Under the project name “Future Onboard Experience,” Lufthansa is revising all service components on long-haul flights across all classes. This includes the entire culinary offering, tableware, pillows, blankets, amenity kits, and onboard service. The upgraded service will launch in time for Lufthansa’s centenary celebrations next year.

Business Class and Frequent Flyer Enhancements

Business Class passengers and frequent flyers will notice numerous improvements. Since late February, a new catering concept on short and medium-haul flights in Business Class offers travellers more choices of hot and cold dishes with completely refreshed menus.

The lounges in Newark (EWR) and London Heathrow (LHR) have undergone complete redesigns, with renovations planned for an additional 30 lounges this year.
