Recent years have brought visible changes in the approach of Poles to renewable energy sources (RES), especially in the context of investment in photovoltaics. After a period of increased interest, there was a temporary stagnation, due, among others, to changes in financial conditions for prosumers and the stabilisation of current prices. But can we anticipate another boom? According to experts, there are factors indicating that Poles may be curious in photovoltaics again.
Changes in the RES market
Bartłomiej Derski, an expert from the portal legartis.pl, notes that financial conditions have changed for those curious in investing in photovoltaics. If the installation's repayment period was respective years earlier, it has now increased to up to 8 years. This could have a crucial impact on the decisions of possible investors.
On the another hand, the number of prosumers is inactive increasing, although the pace of this increase slows down. However, there is simply a group of people that expands existing installations with additional elements specified as heat pumps or energy storage. This shows a sustained interest in green energy.
Boom's return?
The question of whether Poles will be curious in photovoltaics again remains open. Freezing of electricity prices can be a key impetus for increased investment in RES. As energy prices emergence again, more and more people can choose to install photovoltaic panels to reduce the costs associated with the usage of electricity.
Challenges for electrical Networks
However, the increased number of photovoltaic installations besides poses fresh challenges for electricity distributors. Networks are not always ready for a abrupt increase in energy production, which can lead to excessive voltage in local networks and the request to shut down installations.
Development Perspectives
It is worth noting that despite the challenges of network performance, the improvement of RES remains a key component of the energy strategy of many countries, not only Poland. Smart energy management solutions specified as energy retention and marketplace systems for flexible adaptation of energy production and consumption are besides increasingly emerging.
Summary
Will Poland last another boom in photovoltaics? The prospects are promising, especially in the context of the expected defrosting of electricity prices. However, the improvement of RES requires not only the interest of investors, but besides the adaptation of energy infrastructure to changing marketplace conditions. The implementation of smart solutions and sustainable energy management will be crucial for the further improvement of the renewable energy sector in Poland.
