In 1950, a wave of anti-Semitism and terrorism in Iraq caused 21-year-old Naeim Giladi to join the Zionist underground.
Giladi was imprisoned, tortured and sentenced to death by the Iraqi authorities. He fled and fled to Israel to discover that anti-Semitism and bombings were arranged by his Zionist associates to deceive Iraqis Jews like him to go to Israel.

By January 1952, all but 6,000 out of 125,000 Iraqi Jews fled to Israel, where as "Arab Jews" they were treated as second-class citizens. Israel wanted them to do simple work abandoned by the Palestinians. Between the governments of Iraq and Israel, Iraqi Jews lost much of their property.
About his people Giladi concludes: "An ancient, cultural, prosperous community was eradicated, and her people displaced to land dominated by Jews from east Europe whose culture was not only alien but besides completely hateful."
Their destiny was typical of all 500,000 Jews from arabian countries. This contradicts the Zionist argument that these Jews were driven out of Muslim countries and constitute compensation for displaced Palestinians.
Giladi discovered that Israel had rejected many sincere arabian peace proposals due to its expansionist plans. He met with Prime Minister Ben Gurion and asked him why Israel had no constitution.
"If we had a constitution, we would gotta have a limit, and this is not our limit," Ben Gurion told him. "Where the army conquers, there will be our limit."
Giladi became an activist and fought in wars in 1967 and 1973. However, after the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, he renounced Israeli citizenship and moved to fresh York City.
