BelTA Agency reported that on 21 December the president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko supported the proposal of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of abroad Affairs to extend the visa-free movement for citizens of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia for the full 2023.
We remind you that since 15 April 2022 the visa-free movement was introduced for citizens of Lithuania and Latvia, and since 1 July 2022 akin rules have been introduced for Polish citizens. The validity of the rules on visa-free movement in Belarus was originally foreseen until the end of 2022. During the visa-free movement, Belarus visited almost 370 000 citizens of the European Union (Lithuanian citizens – over 70%, Latvia – about 20%, Poland – 10%). The decision to extend the visa-free movement was motivated by the openness of Belarus, targeting good neighbourhood and strengthening interethnic ties.
Polish, Lithuanian and Latvian citizens will inactive be able to visit the Republic of Belarus, meet relatives, visit burial sites, usage medical services and store at attractive prices.
