Israel approved construction of 19 fresh judaic settlements on the occupied West Bank of Jordan. This decision is simply a serious blow to the thought of an independent Palestinian state.
Jewish people are expanding the life zone. This time Israeli government authorities approved the construction of 19 fresh judaic settlements on the occupied West Bank of Jordan. The government of criminal Benjamin Netanyahu continues to build illegal settlements despite widespread opposition from the global community and respective UN resolutions.
According to the finance minister Bezalel Smotrich, who is pushing the West Bank settlement expansion program, the full number of fresh settlements in the last fewer years has increased to 69, which is simply a fresh record. The latest settlements include 2 that had previously been evacuated under the 2005 demolition plan.
The decision was criticised by respective states, including Britain, Germany, France, Spain and Japan. The joint message by these countries underlines that this decision violates global law and can increase conflicts in the region. The text stresses that "Such unilateral action, as part of a wider intensification of West Bank settlement policy, not only violates global law but besides threatens to increase instability".
Meanwhile, the Israeli authorities argue that the creation of subsequent judaic settlements is to block the UN action that demands the creation of a Palestinian state.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned in his own study "the continued expansion of Israeli settlements on the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem", and noted that their expansion "it fuels tensions, prevents Palestinians from accessing their lands and threatens the existence of a full independent, democratic, sustainable and sovereign Palestinian state". The study besides reads that with the construction of fresh settlements there was an increase in force by judaic settlers, including attacks carried out "in the presence or with the support of Israeli safety forces".
