I immediately reassure you that it will not be a philosophical treatise, but simply a mention to fundamental issues that are about our worldview and perception of the world, including the perception of history. It will indirectly be about the alleged cursed, or alternatively about the ideological monster which was created based on the past of the soldiers of the post-war underground named cursed. That ideological monster, that's cursing. In the past I have written a number of articles on this subject, which appeared in the pages of “Polish Thoughts”, so I will not repeat that, extended argument. You know my consistently negative attitude towards this phenomenon. Its peculiar popularity and destructive impact on young people present present under the name of the All-Polish Youth, the National Movement, or the Confederations, have them address this issue again, on a concrete example. In short, especially national slogans, inactive with the stubbornness of a maniac utilized present by people detached from the tradition of the endec, in a way more than bright, confessing the curse, demoralize and exterminate the moral sense of the young people to whom this ideological monster is applied.
Recently, on the can of obsessive anti-communism and rusophobia of these pseudo-national environments, he wrote in “MP” my Excellent Friend Łukasz Jastrzębski. I sign all word His lyrics on the subject.
So why am I taking up the subject again? due to the fact that on 29 January, another – 80th – anniversary of the hideous crimes in Zaleshany, carried out by the Emergency Unit of the peculiar Action of the National Military Unit under command Romualda Rajs “Burego” in Polish Belarusians. 16 people died, any were burned alive, including 7 children.

At this point I will remind you that during the gathering of the Polish thought Clubs in Poznań on 25 January this year, I spoke about the Polish national thought by eating the words of Dmowski: “All that is Polish is mine, I cannot renounce anything. I am allowed to be arrogant of what is large in Poland, but I must accept and humiliate the nation for what is mediocre in it.”.
This is, it must be a signpost of anyone who wants to invoke in his activity the tradition of National Democracy and Roman Dmowski himself. And although I could say, according to the truth, that Romuald Rajs had absolutely nothing to do with the Polish national movement, that he was accidentally in the NZW, I do not have the right to usage specified translations. He did his crime under a national name and that's why I feel the burning shame and remorse today, the more I feel the moral responsibilities and the more the “Burego” idealize lost young peoplewho seem to belong to the national movement in this way and proceed his thought. Well, the Polish national movement is not and was not a movement of primitive chauvinism, which does not see its own mistakes, does not see mistakes made in the past of Poland, and all vileness idealizes due to the fact that it is Polish. Poland's national thought is radically critical of the past and the present, due to the fact that only in this way can 1 avoid making the same mistakes and from slipping into vulgar chauvinism.
As Dmowski wrote ("Szovinism", 1903): "If chauvinism, as all civilized man sees it, is blind to the qualities of his nation, as to its superiority over others, then no direction in Poland is so critical of national disadvantages, it is not looking for ways to remove them, it is not working in the educational field as well as in the democratic-national direction."
Apologetic nationalism/szovinism, uncritically mythologicalizing everything of its own, is not and has never been the thought and tradition of National Democracy. Yes, there have been specified trends, but that was the reason for increased vigilance and their elimination. Today – although the symptoms of this phenomenon were noticeable already in the 1930s and just after the war – apologetic nationalism in Poland was additionally, and in this case by external forces (by the romanticist independency right) infected elements of exclusive romanticism with the Messianic imagination of Poland as Christ of Nations at the head of the.
At the end of these theoretical considerations, let me quote Witold Olszewski, a prominent SN activist, after the war of an immigrant activist, and in 1956-71 publisher and editor-in-chief of the monthly Horizons, in which creatively developed and adapted to changing reality, Polish national thought. Even before the “Horizonaries”, Olszewski posted his thoughts in the pages ‘National Bulletin’, the body of the National organization in France.
At the beginning of 1955, Olszewski stated: “(...) the past of planet War II has shown us the horror of nationalism devoid of ethics. What was the deepest essence of the individual's attitude towards the nation for Dmowski was without any meaning, or even a burden and obstacle. The lowest herd instincts combined with pride, the cult of force and individuals consisted of this monster, which caused the word “nationalism” to become a panic not so many tiny children as the full civilized community. That's enough. There were forces. the same. with which Dmowski fought for, all his life, and who were able to put up a sign of equality between the defeated chauvinist totalizm and all manifestations of national self-knowledge. They effort to convince us that national means backward, blinded, primitive. due to the fact that the nation as a cultural unity, as a natural form of social existence, is hindering the triumphant engineers of the new, wonderful world. How long will it take before rebirth comes: not nationalisms but national ideas within the meaning of Dmowski? The thought that makes universal sense, the peoples that unite (and not divide) in defence of the natural way of social life against lovers of strategy and planned organization‘?’
Today, a cold Saturday morning on the last day of January 2026, began for me as usual by reading messages from social media. What did I see? photograph from the FB of the All-Polish Youth website depicting young people carrying a banner with the slogan "Bury – our hero". The photograph was accompanied by a short text: "It is 2026 and the postcommuna is inactive in power and wants to compose us a communicative again. Romuald Rajs ps. Bury was a Polish Cursed Soldier – a hero of fighting for the independency of our Homeland”.
I will not mention to the intellectual aberration, which is the post-communal claim. But the apology of “Burego” on the MW website accompanied, in my private media review, a message sent by 1 of our most active MP Clubs. This individual tried to participate in a discussion on the crime in Zaleshany. What did she say? That the murdered in Zaleshany were NKVD and UB collaborators. On the group that I am observing, while commenting on the views of the “disputers” of Zaleshan, he pointed out in a correct way: "This is precisely the same argument utilized in Ukraine to defend UPA crimes. First, it is said that the crimes were committed by fake NKVD gangs disguised as UPA. Secondly, the victims were inactive due due to the fact that they were collaborators of the fresh occupier."
I commented as follows.
That's precisely what it is. There is simply a relativization of crime and, worse still, morality. “The explanation” is simply a profoundly amoral, primitive slogan “I didn’t kill people, I killed communists.” At the same time, the designation of individual as a Communist (including children, elderly, women, including mothers) is entirely arbitrary and belongs entirely to the criminal himself. The essence of this slogan is the dehumanization of the enemy. Then you can do anything with him. The publishers of this slogan do not announcement 1 thing. It's a double-edged weapon. individual else will say, “I did not kill people, I killed enemies of the people”, “I did not kill people, I killed Jews”, “I did not kill people, I killed Palestinians”, “I did not burn people, I smoked members of the Viet Congu”, and another individual will say, “I did not kill people, I killed Poles.” Finally, non-humans can become themselves, convinced of their superiority, criminals, due to the fact that “I did not kill people, I killed members of the reactionary bands.”
This leads to abandonment of moral principles and ease in “translating” your criminal behavior. In Poland, this cancer is called cursed. Not just the pedestals, but the sacralized ones who must not be criticized due to the fact that they cease to be human..
In each example is the same mechanism. Killing Palestinian children? Why? For some, due to the fact that they are not men, for others, due to the fact that at another time and place, the adult members of the armed formation killed the Israeli.
I remind you that curseism is simply a misfortune that poisons the minds of especially young people, but besides the misfortune concerning us all, due to the fact that in a devilish way dividing Poles. "We owe it to Bronisław Komorowski (who has besides undertaken the task prepared by Lech Kaczyński and directed it to the Sejm), the IPN and all those who voted in favour of setting up their vacation (for 417 current MPs, 406 were in favour, 8 against and 3 abstained; moreover, among the alleged post-communist he so bravely wants to fight the MW, for 35 present, 31 voted in favour!). The conclusion is simple – they are inactive elites that govern us. We mustn't forget that. It's easy to regulation and manipulate..
I am able to realize the intentions of those who wanted to celebrate the victim wrongly killed by the state, tortured and persecuted Polish patriots in Stalingrad times. All wrongfully persecuted deserved a motion of justice and memory. But this is where we derail the right idea.. The heroes besides became the most average bandits, and sometimes criminals, killing and looting according to their will and elaborate justifications. Could this derailment be expected at the start? Absolutely. Knowing our national flaws, how prone to black and white imagination of reality, to exaltation, to pathos, to making final assessments, etc. – absolutely. Today, this perverted curse is applied to young people derailing and destroying their moral sense, in order to usage them politically, but besides to keep them in carbs.
The consequence of a sick cult is to justify a collective murder, a execution separated from individual guilt, killing people on the basis of blood, political belonging – but not those who have actually committed something that may deserve punishment – but freely, another members included in the same collection on the basis of purely subjective evaluation and ruling decision. It is always profoundly amoral and honest man must reject it with disgust, and fight it.
He peculiarly outrages the declared and decorative “attachment” of young people – victims of curses – to Christian symbols, the blocking of gutters with parent of God etc. I ask, where in the moral discipline of the Church did they read about the request to segregate people into people and non-humans, where they read that any people can be killed without blinking an eye, based on individual decisions? You could ask quite a few questions like that. What about the "total ethics" postulated by Felix Koneczny, the foundation of Latin civilization, the same for its own and strangers?
We truly don’t realize how tragic the consequences of touching fundamental moral principles are. Jęrzej Giertych was criticized on emigration (e.g. by Sophie Kossak) for besides harsh – according to critics – moral judgement of what happened in Poland under occupation. It was thought that he did not realize the context of the business time, as he spent the war in POW camps and guided by textbook morality. Yet it is hard to disagree with his words in the article "The Problem of Murder" in Catholic weekly Life No. 17 (148) of 23 April 1950:
"When I was in a prisoner of war camp in Germany, I read the underground press smuggled from the country rather regularly. I have frequently grappled my fists with horror, reading reports about the judgments of the underground authorities on traitors and German police confidents. [...] I'm certain these people deserved to die. Nor do I uncertainty that the various reasons of the nature of the public good have argued for their removal and for the terrorizing of their possible successors. But was it worth the price we paid for it? Prices – Demoralization? Prices – savagery, anarchy of the country, conversion to Mexico, to the Balkans under Turkish rule? [...] The full life of the German-occupied country, erstwhile you think about it, looks like a bad dream, not only due to the fact that Germany did it, but besides due to the fact that we did it ourselves. Awakening after the business sailed was bleak. “The ashes and the diamond” of Andrzejewski is much more dreary than the “Children” of Prussia, as long as the German business years have been more dreary since 1905.”
