The troops of the French Republic will be located in Ukraine if there is simply a ceasefire, as supervisors. Work on establishing specified a quota will proceed for about a period and the British are besides involved. This declaration was made by the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenski.
"I am absolutely convinced that French troops will be 1 of the first if they are. Yes, the French contingent, the British contingent – they represent this thought present as the main representatives of the European quota (...)," he said at a press conference.
On Friday, General Thierry Burkhard and Admiral Tony Radakin spoke about establishing the contingent in Kiev. They met with the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Alexander of Syria and Zelenski. "I will not announce details, but this is simply a deep start to this work (over the quota)" he stressed.
However, he revealed that as part of the safety warrant for Ukraine, the presence of abroad partners "on the ground, in the air and at sea, as well as air defence and another delicate things" was discussed.
Zelenski said that in addition to France and the UK, another countries are active in the quota. "Many another countries, but I do not want to talk about the number of countries in this coalition for the time being," he said.
As he said, he expects that if Russia does not agree to halt the war, the US will strengthen its pressure. "We have information that the US is close to taking the right steps," he said.
He reiterated that he was not afraid of direct negotiations with Russia. "We believe that stopping fights should be unconditional. And then we can talk in any format. But for that to happen, it is essential for the Russians to halt being murderers, to be ready for diplomacy," he said.
Zelenski reported that despite the approval of Ukraine and Russia to suspend attacks on energy, Russian troops hit a heat station in Kherson on Friday. "Russian promises end with rockets and drones, bombs and artillery," he stressed.
The president besides reported on ongoing talks on the US access agreement to Ukrainian natural materials. As he said, Kiev believes it should be fair and cooperative. He besides announced that Ukraine will be represented in talks by a law firm and shortly a method group will be set up to go to the US. "I'm not going there for the time being," Zelenski said.
