Karol Nawrocki's oath as president of the Republic of Poland will take place on 6 August at 10:00 in the Chamber of Meetings. The authoritative order of the talker of the Sejm Simon Holownia was published on 19 July in Polish Monitors, ending speculation on the word and the legality of the recently elected head of state.

According to the Constitution, the fresh president takes office after taking an oath before the National Assembly, and the talker of the Sejm is liable for organising this ceremony.

Karol Nawrocki was elected in the second circular of presidential elections, and on 1 July the ultimate Court confirmed the validity of the elections, rejecting all protests as irrelevant to their outcome. They were affected by over 53,000 – a evidence large – but no questioned the results of the vote on a national scale.

Despite this, the oath case has sparked political controversy. PiS politicians accused the ruling authorities of deliberately delaying publication of the order to convene the National Assembly. Mr Zbigniew Bogucki accused the ruling camp of “game on time” and attempted to destabilize the transfer of power procedure. On the another hand, Justice Minister Adam Bodnar sent a letter to the talker of the Sejm with 12 points in which he expressed doubts about the legality of the court's proceedings and the publication of the decision by the government. Among the allegations were alleged deficiencies in the composition of the ultimate Court and deficiency of transparency erstwhile considering protests.

However, constitutional experts stress that the constitutional mechanics of transfer of power works independently of political emotions. The National Assembly was effectively convened and the work of the talker of the Sejm was fulfilled. After swearing in, Karol Nawrocki will meet with the Sejm and legislature elder Conventions, which will initiate his first authoritative actions as president. Despite tensions, the transition procedure will be finalised within the constitutionally provided deadline.
