He died like Stepan Bandera in Germany, but he naturally did. He was there for treatment.

His father led the UPA. The troops led by Roman Szuchewych UPA during planet War II carried out mass murders on Polish people in Volyn, among others. He spent 28 years in prisons and camps of the USSR as a political prisoner. From 1948 to 1958, he was in prison in Włodzimierz on Klazma, then in camps. Fired in 1968. Szuchewycz never expressed regret about the criminal activity of Ukrainian chauvinists. Today, the full blame consists of the shoulders of the Ukrainians, and it wasn't like that. I can give many examples of Polish wines.” In 2011, at a rally in Lviv, together with Rostyslaw Nowożence, he called for the joining of Ukrainians surviving in Ukraine of the lands located in Poland: Lemkowszczyzna, Nadsania, Chełmszczyzna and Podlasie. On resumes of Ukrainians like Khrushchev and Brezhnev? How about the Bolshevik legend of Stachanov? (...) Only on the UPA story Ukrainians can build their national identity today. Especially since they've been bullied as a nation for years. The Russians pushed us to the folk ghetto. The Ukrainian speech was to be an attribute of a villager in a worn shirt, and on the another hand Dostoevsky, Czechov, Tchaikovsky, Rublow, Mendelev, Bolszoi Theatre and flights into space (...)”
