Russian-Ukrainian War (as of morning 04.02.2026):
- The largest Russian attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure has started since the beginning of the year. Russian forces utilized tens of hundreds of combat drones and tens of ballistic missiles, aiming, among others, at power plants and transmission networks. These attacks led to energy supply and heating failures in many Ukrainian cities, including Kiev, Dniepra, Kharkiv and Sumach at highly low temperatures. In Kiev and another regions, many residential buildings lost heat and electricity.
Russian attacks on Ukrainian positions proceed in respective sectors of the dam section. The sharpest clashes take place around towns specified as Nowe Zaporozhie, Hulaipole and areas south of Zaporozhie.
- On the Pokrowski section there are dense fights under the villages Zatishok and Bilickie.
- On the Slavic section, after mastering Nikiforivka, the Russians continued to north, to Lypiwaka.
Preparations for the next circular of peace talks to be held with Ukraine, Russia and the US in Abu Dhabi are underway, however, the escalation of the attacks has shaken assurance in erstwhile ceasefire arrangements. Zelenski criticises Russia for allegedly breaking the "time truce" which was expected to defend energy infrastructure during the winter.
