The head of the MFA Radosław Sikorski criticised the United States for imposing on Europe its own values and the concept of freedom of speech, which according to him is different from this European. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed discontent with Washington's alleged interference with Polish politics.
Radosław Sikorski took part in the panel discussion during the Munich safety Conference. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Polish Government was asked whether the West inactive exists. He admitted that yes, although there are besides any differences between the US and the European Union.
– In Europe, for crucial historical reasons, for example in Poland, it is prohibited to advocate fascism and communism for very crucial historical reasons. We believe in freedom of speech with responsibility. And what happened here last year was that the vice president of the United States told us that our concept of freedom of speech was censorship, and I just don't accept it," Sikorski said. “And so the difficulty we are facing now is that 1 side of the Atlantic is trying to impose its values on the another side and that is unacceptable,” added the head of the MFA.
Radosław Sikorski besides stated that the Donald Trump administration interfered with the political process in Poland, supporting the candidacy of Karol Nawrocki.
Hillary Clinton, erstwhile U.S. Secretary of State, and Donald Trump's rival in the 2016 presidential election besides participated in the discussion. She attacked power in the United States claiming that the White home forced Ukraine to surrender. She stated that Washington's actions in this case were “honorable”.
– I believe that Trump's position towards Ukraine is shameful. I believe the effort to force Ukraine to surrender with Putin is shameful. I think Putin and Trump's efforts to profit from the misfortune and death of the Ukrainian people are a historical mistake and corruption to the end of power," said the erstwhile head of US diplomacy.
