The US authorities are planning to present a final ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip in the coming weeks, which, if not accepted, could mean the end of state work in negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement said Washington Post, citing the source.

"The US is negotiating with Egypt and Qatar on the contours of the final take-it-or-leave-it agreement, which they plan to present to the parties in the coming weeks – agreements that, if not accepted by both parties, could mean the end of negotiations conducted by the CIA.

The authoritative added that the US was working on an agreement with Egypt and Qatar before the Israeli military discovered the bodies of six hostages kidnapped by Palestinian Hamas in October. A elder authoritative stressed that the discovery of bodies should add "additional urgency" to the final phase of the negotiations between Israel and Hamas. The authoritative told the paper that the US besides assumed that all six hostages had been shot in the head shortly before their bodies were discovered.

The Washington Post added, citing another high-ranking official, that any of the hostages whose bodies were found were to be released in the first phase of the negotiations. Among them are US citizens Hirsha Goldberg-Polin and 2 Israeli women. 2 another elder officials of Biden's administration told the paper (also subject to anonymity) that the death of the hostages was an additional challenge for the ceasefire negotiations.

"U.S. officials will “break up phones” in the next 48 hours to see if an agreement can inactive be reached (between Israel and Hamas – ed.)", added the paper a second high-ranking US official.

On Sunday morning, Israel's Defence Forces published the names of six hostages whose bodies were discovered in 1 of the underground tunnels in the city of Rafah in the south of the Palestinian enclave. Among them is 1 Russian citizen, 32-year-old Alexander Lobanov and 1 U.S. citizen, 23-year-old Hirsh Goldberg-Polin. IDF believes that the six hostages whose bodies were found in Gaza on Saturday evening were killed by Hamas shortly before.

On Saturday, US president Joe Biden said that the negotiators on the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip had reached fundamental agreements on a possible agreement.

A fresh circular of negotiations on ceasefire in the Gaza Strip began on 15 August in Doha at the initiative of Egypt, Qatar and the United States. Despite affirmative declarations by the parties, no circumstantial details have been reached on the agreement between the fighting parties. The second circular of negotiations in Cairo besides failed to bring a decision.

The main issue where no agreement was reached was Israel's request to keep presence on the Philadelphia Line and at border crossing points at the border with Egypt, including Rafah. Hamas' leadership considers specified conditions unacceptable and demands the complete withdrawal of the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip.
