The 61st Munich safety Conference will start in Munich on Friday, which will last until Sunday. 1 of the key topics will be the conflict in the mediate East and the situation in Ukraine.
Just before the Munich safety Conference, U.S. president Donald Trump held telephone calls with Russian leader Vladimir Putin and then with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenski. Trump announced that he had agreed to immediately start peace negotiations with Putin.
Media speculates that during the conference the president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski can meet personally with Trump administration representatives, including U.S. Vice president J. D. Vancem, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and U.S. President's envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg.
Prior to the talks between Trump and Putin and Zelensk, the head of the Munich safety Conference Christoph Heusgen expressed hope that the gathering would present the “contures” of the peace plan for Ukraine. He felt that advancement could be made towards a peace agreement.
W Ukraine is increasing concerns that US president Donald Trump may importantly reduce financial and military support, as announced in the election campaign. There are increasingly reports of a possible alternate agreement in which the US would proceed to assist in exchange for access to Ukrainian natural materials specified as uncommon earth metals. It is speculated that circumstantial arrangements may be made at the Munich Conference.
In the first weeks of his second term, Donald Trump gives transatlantic relations a sharper tone, which is noted by planet media just before the conference begins. The U.S. president is clearly changing Washington's politics. Even during the election campaign, he demanded that NATO countries increase defence spending to up to 5% of GDP.
This year's conference will be attended by leaders from around 60 countries, including US Vice president J.D. This year's Munich safety Conference takes place at a peculiar time – respective weeks after president Donald Trump took office and about a week before the parliamentary elections in Germany.
Following the beginning of the conference by German president Steinmeier on Friday, the world's biggest political leaders will discuss issues specified as "climate security", global order, regional conflicts and crises and the function of Europe in the world.
It will be the 61st edition of an global gathering of Heads of State, Government and global Organisations, as well as ministers, members of Parliament, high-ranking representatives of the armed forces, science, civilian society, business and media. It is held annually in February, the first edition was organized in 1963.
