The Patriotism of our great-grandfathers...

He was different from football stadiums,

He didn't request the screaming stands,

And he was quiet in his heart...

There were no valid village names,

Fast-released with a black flamingo,

On the raging white-red flags,

In large stadiums visible from a distance,

But written in hearts with golden sounds,

The names of the large national heroes,

A silent tribute to the book in mind,

The glorious cards of Polish history...

They were not his attribute loud in the wuvuzele,

With a couple of shots of rockets,

The emotionful cheers loud,

Thousands of fans shout each another out,

But patriotism gave them meaning,

That for all beloved Homeland call,

Without hesitation for the fathers of their land,

They were willing to sacrifice their lives...

He was free from all service of acts,

Getting utilized to two-faced politicians,

Entering the business pocket of magnates,

Shining by the sword,

It mattered more than a large payday,

First place was always Homeland,

They were not consumed by their work in abroad corporations...

It wasn't an crucial stuffed euro wallet,

All that mattered was their values of devotion,

In the right heart, sincere intentions,

Centuries-old traditions of tender nurturing...

It was not crucial to prosecute success,

Annual gross multiplication,

For each superior was the goal,

Serving Poland in the days of regular labor,

Weekly profit and failure balance,

He never ate them up.

Their top value was service,

Daily, persistent work for the Homeland...

The Patriotism of our great-grandfathers...

He did not talk in the streams of unnecessary words,

But he was full of examples of heroism,

Ready to go to all the trouble,

And erstwhile the hr of trial comes,

At the call of the Fatherland,

In defence of their relatives and their hearts,

Don't hesitate to sacrifice your life...

And do not perceive to enemy propaganda,

And be guided by reason and heart,

And the lessons received as a kid of patriotism,

To make adulthood glorious,

And erstwhile the enemy powers divisions,

They'll cross the border by dawn,

With his eyelids sticky, spending a dream,

Among days full of sacrifices and hardships,

Among the countless war winds,

Like sparks of cold ashes,

They stood firm at the station,

So, despite the passing of decades,

To stay an example to us,

How we should be in modern times,

What should our patriotism be...

What is our patriotism today, compared to the erstwhile patriotism of our grandparents and great-grandfathers? This 1 was undoubtedly an outstanding model... present we do not attach specified large devotion, sacrifice, readiness to the top sacrifices to patriotism. In the old days Poles were born for Poland, Poland gave all breath, for Poland died... So patriotism for our grandfathers was as crucial as the religion in God. Once, patriotism did not express itself in a stream of words, idle talk, but in large deeds that were witnessed for years by scars of war veterans. Our grandparents and great-grandfathers in the name of patriotism were able to do specified large deeds as the people of the farthest corners of the planet could not even imagine!...
