Anna Maria Żukowska of the Left leaves no uncertainty – her group will vote in favour of giving a vote of assurance to the government of Donald Tusk. On Wednesday, a key vote will be held in the Sejm to find the future of the current coalition. Left-wing politicians presented their position at a press conference while stressing expectations towards government partners.
“I can’t imagine voting any another way than ‘for’”
– A vote of assurance for our government will be voted tomorrow. I cannot imagine voting in any another way than “in favour” due to the fact that we are part of this government – said Anna Maria Żukowska, quoted by the portal ♪ I've got a lot to do ♪. The head of the Left parliamentary club pointed out that the alternate to the current coalition is only the government with the participation of the Law and the Confederation, which, in her opinion, the Left voters do not want.
– The government with the participation of the Confederate will surely not uphold labour rights, good quality, available public services – added Żukowska.
Biejat calls for faster work on the demands of the Left
During the conference, Vice-Marszał of the legislature Magdalena Biejat mentioned key draft laws that the Left wants to implement quickly. Among them were:
- Partnerships,
- Protection of labour rights,
- Addressing the housing crisis.
Biejat besides called on the talker of the Sejm Simon Holownia and Deputy Marshal of the legislature of Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska to velocity up legislative work.
– This is my large appeal to Marshal Hollow. You said yourself, Marshal, no more words, no more actions. You said yourself, you request to velocity up. Please, we are giving you circumstantial tools, concrete draft laws. We can proceed rapidly through the Sejm – emphasised Biejat.
A akin appeal was made to Kidawa-Błońska:
– I call upon them as the legislature marshals to scope the advanced chamber as shortly as possible. Let's halt looking for excuses, let's take action. The left is as ready as ever.
Żukowska: “We have remarks, but this is simply a dam against the PiS and the Confederation”
Anna Maria Żukowska admitted that the Left had reservations about the functioning of the government, but stressed that support for it was essential to avoid returning to the power of the Law and the Confederation.
– Of course, we have a number of comments on how this government can function better, we all know that. But it's a dam against things that can go faster, like protecting workers' rights, so that another governments don't reverse them. – she said.
The vote of assurance for Donald Tusk's government will take place on Wednesday and will be a key test for the stableness of the current coalition.
