The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management – State investigation Institute (IMGW-PIB) published the latest long-term weather forecast for Poland, covering the period from August to November 2025. Analysis of prognostic models indicates clear trends that will specify the end of summertime and the full fall. Although August is forecast to be a warmer period than usual, the following months will bring crucial changes, especially in terms of precipitation. Let us prepare for a typical Polish golden autumn only in any regions and for very wet November throughout the country.
August 2025: Warmer than usual throughout Poland
According to the latest forecasts of IMGW-PIB, August 2025 will be a period warmer than the long-term norm (from 1991 to 2020) throughout Poland. This means that the average monthly air temperature in most regions will exceed the values considered typical for this period.
In practice, this will translate into more pleasant, more summertime weather conditions. For example, in Warsaw the average temperature is to be between 18.6°C and 19.2°C, while the standard is 18.6°C. likewise in Kraków, where it is forecasted from 18.1°C to 19.1°C. The highest average temperatures are expected in the west of the country – in Wrocław and Opole thermometers can indicate an average of 18.8°C to 19.5°C. Even in mountain Zakopane, usually colder, the average temperature is to be higher than average (14.8°C to 15.9°C).
As far as rainfall is concerned, August is forecast to be a period with the sum of precipitation within the limits of the multiannual norm. There is so no fear of severe droughts or of violent, long-term rains on a larger scale. In Warsaw, the full amount of precipitation is to be between 43.5 mm and 61.9 mm, and in Krakow from 54.1 mm to 77.9 mm. September: Regional differences in temperature and precipitation

The sum of precipitation above the norm is forecast primarily in the north-east of the country, around Białystok (32.4-56.0 mm), Olsztyn (32.2-57.8 mm) and Suwałk (33.1-51.9 mm). In another regions of Poland precipitation should fall within the multiannual standard. This is worth keeping in head erstwhile planning trips or garden work in different parts of the country.
October: Typical temperature, more rain in the west
October 2025 promises to be a period of stableness in terms of temperature. According to IMGW-PIB forecasts, the average monthly air temperature in all Poland will make in the multiannual standard. This means returning to typical autumn values, characteristic of this month.
For example, in Warsaw the average temperature will be from 7.8°C to 9.9°C, in Krakow from 7.8°C to 9.6°C, and in Wrocław from 8.7°C to 10.8°C. It will be a classical Polish October – with colder days, first frosts at night, but besides a chance for a sunny “grandmother summer”.
However, the distribution of precipitation will be a key change in October. Forecasts indicate the sum of precipitation above average in the western part of the country. More rain than usual will fall in cities specified as Gorzów Wielkopolski, Koszalin, Poznań, Szczecin and Zielona Góra. In the capital of Wielkopolska, the forecast full precipitation ranges from 23.6 mm to 36.9 mm, while the standard is 23.6 mm. Western Polish residents should be prepared for a more rainy aura. In the center and east of the country, the rainfall will stay in the norm of many years.
November 2025: The wettest period in the country
The forecast for November 2025 is clear and predicts radical change in weather. According to IMGW-PIB, this period we are waiting exceptionally wet aura throughout Poland. Without exception, in all cities and regions of the country, the sum of precipitation is forecasted above the multiannual norm. It is simply a clear signal that the end of autumn will be dominated by rain, wind and mostly gloomy conditions.
Temperatures in November are expected to stay in the norm for many years. So it will not be highly warm or highly cold. We can anticipate typical values for this month, e.g. from 3.5°C to 5.2°C in Warsaw. The combination of normal, which is already rather low temperatures, with above average rainfall means that umbrellas, boots and raincoats will be absolutely essential in November. The increase in humidity can besides affect the well-being and conditions on the roads.
The latest long-term IMGW-PIB forecast for the remainder of 2025 indicates clear weather trends. August will be warmer than usual, giving a chance to prolong summertime activities. September and October will bring different weather, with warmer regions in the north and west in September and higher rainfall in the west in October. However, the key information is the forecast for November, which is expected to be a period with importantly increased rainfall throughout Poland.
