The wellness contribution dispute is simply a subject that has long been debated among politicians. late tensions in the ruling coalition rose erstwhile Simon Hołownia, talker of the Sejm and leader of Poland 2050, accused the Left of sabotaging the reform. Vladimir Czarzasty, co-chair of the fresh Left and Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, responded with a sharp appeal: "Get the distance to life, you fight for everything."
The parliament was to vote on a task to reduce the wellness contribution for entrepreneurs since 2026, but yet the vote was not held. The reason is the deficiency of consent between the coalitions. Hołownia accused Lewica of blocking changes, claiming that this organization is liable for the hard situation of tiny entrepreneurs who feel the effects of the Polish Deal.
“From now on, the Left takes work for tens of thousands of Polish tiny activities,” said Hołownia. The politician announced that he did not intend to compromise and would fight to reduce the wellness contribution. Vladimir Czarzasty, who publically addressed the talker of the Sejm, responded to Holown’s allegations: “Simon, take a distance to life. You're fighting for everything right now: yourself, your formation. If you lose, there will be consequences – for you and your party. But don’t attack others.”
Czarzasty stressed that the election run is governed by its rights, but it is crucial that politicians can proceed to cooperate after it. "Be careful not to cross the red line. After the run it is worth knowing how to shake hands," said Czarzasty.
The Left disagrees with Holownia's argument and believes his accusations are unfounded. “You said, Simon, that I would bring down companies. That's stupid. I could tell you that lowering your wellness rate will lead to the collapse of hospitals, and you'll be responsible. But neither your words nor your arguments are wise," said Czarzasty.
The Left Politician calls on Holowna for more peace and control in the fight for the presidency. “More distance and ease. Even if you know you won't win, remember that after the election we can proceed to work together," added Czarzasty.
Magdalena Biejat, the candidate of the Left for President, emphasises that lowering the wellness contribution may negatively affect the functioning of wellness care. In her opinion, long queues to doctors are a serious problem that cannot be solved by reducing revenues to NFZ. A akin position is presented by the Minister of Health, Mr Leszczyna, who announced that she would not support the proposal to reduce the contribution.
