Today, Members of the Civic Club (KO) announced that they would file a announcement to the D.A. on the cry of "murderer" which was addressed to Mr Roman Giertych during the Wednesday session of the Sejm. The MP Katarzyna Kierzek-Koperska informed about this at a press conference, stressing that the KO club cannot leave the case like this.
PiS MPs accused of calling to hatred
The notification concerns the anticipation of six PiS MPs: Iwona Arendt, Przemysław Czarnek, Jarosław Kaczyński, Bartosz Kownacki, Antoni Macerewicz and Anna Krupka. These people have been identified for monitoring as those who shouted "murderer" and those who, in the opinion of the KO MPs, should be held accountable.
Conclusions to the Parliament's Ethics Committee and the Bureau of the Sejm
Karolina Pawliciak added that KO besides submits a request to the Sejm's ethics committee for violations of the principles of parliamentary ethics. Roman Gierty, on the another hand, said that a request was besides made to the Bureau of the Sejm to bring consequences to the PiS Members under the Rules of Procedure of the Sejm. Kierzek-Koperska stressed that the papers would be signed by the club president Zbigniew Konwiński.
Background: The death of Barbara Violin
On Wednesday in the Sejm, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński named Roman Giertych "the main sadist" in connection with the death of his co-worker Barbara Skrzypek. Giertych, in an effort to answer him, entered the parliamentary platform, which was surrounded by PiS MPs. The cry of the “murderer” was heard, “catch the murderer”, addressed to Giertych. Then Deputy Marshal Piotr Zgorzelski ordered a recess.
Consequences for PiS
This case may have political consequences for the Law and Justice. As Kierzyzek-Koperska emphasizes, the KO club cannot leave the case like this, and any action, erstwhile it calls for hatred, should be pursued from the office to death. It is worth noting that this issue may be a precedent in Polish politics, where Members will be held accountable for their words and actions.
Figures
It is worth noting that over 70% of Poles believe that politicians should be held accountable for their words and actions. In turn, over 60% of Poles believe that the Sejm should be a place of debate and discussion, not a place where politicians call for hatred.
