In late 2014, PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński presented the candidacy Andrzej Duda For the president of Poland, almost everyone laughed, and the loudest laughter was Bronisław Komorowski. fewer gave Andrzej Duda any chance, and the poll for TVN besides went to history, in which the then President-in-Office of Komorowski virtually crushed the competition with a consequence of 65%, which gave any triumph in the First round.

The real election results looked completely different, the favourite Komorowski scored 33.77% in the 1st circular and lost to Andrzej Duda, for whom 34.76% of voters voted. The panic in the President's staff, whose second word of office was running, broke out much earlier, but erstwhile the votes were counted, there was hysteria. Apart from Andrzej Duda, Paweł Kuzkiz besides proved to be the item of the election, and the fight for good began about his 20.8% of the vote.
The main postulates of Kukiz were JOWs, i.e. single-mandate electoral districts and referendums in key issues for Poles. Bronisław Komorowski's staff then came up with a superb thought to combine 2 Paul Kukiz's dream in 1 referendum on JOW. specified a procedure was to get Kukiz voters to cast votes on Komorowski, but from the beginning the Kukiz voters did not buy this thick thread of sewn political intrigue.
Bronisław Komorowski did not offend and on May 21, 2015, 4 days before the second circular of elections, The legislature rapidly accepted the presidential project. On May 25, 2015, it turned out that the referendum did not aid Komorowski, and the election was won by Andrzej Duda gaining 51.03%. However, it was not the end of the humiliations of Bronisław Komorowski, who until 8 July 2015 inactive served as president of the Republic of Poland and had to take on his shoulders a compromising referendum by his own author. On June 17, 2015, president Komorowski signed the Senate's decision to hold a referendum, followed by a final tragedy on September 6, 2015, as only 7.8% of Poles went to the polls and it was the lowest attendance in the national European votes after 1945.
The full PiS and, above all, Jarosław Kaczyński, who lost the 2010 presidential election to Komorowski, surely have in head the tremendous disgrace of competition. Despite this today, the leader of the PiS announced that he would like to hold a referendum on an EU-imposed relocation of refugees from Africa and Asia. What made at least theoretically Jarosław Kaczyński want to enter the same river where Bronisław Komorowski drowned?
It seems that, above all, this is simply a completely different river, first of all, there are 4 months to the elections, which means that the referendum can be combined with parliamentary elections. Secondly, the validity of the referendum is determined by attendance above 50% and it is almost certain that so many Poles will go to the polls. Thirdly, the subject is very up-to-date and in favour of the Law and Justice, while for the very pro-European competition with the Law and Justice organization this trap would gotta break EU provisions or change their beliefs suddenly.
The Kaczyński and Komorowski referendums are only seemingly similar, but apart from the usage of referendums in the election campaign, there are no more similarities. The referendum can even rise election turnout and behind this rise will definitely be the opponents of relocation, closer to conservative views, and thus a possible electorate of the conservative PiS party.
You can't anticipate simple bills here. 1 to one, however, it must besides be remembered that the ruling camp to keep power needs to add a fewer percent to the average polling consequence around 35%, and this procedure at least in part has a chance to replenish.
