After presidential elections and media speculations about a possible change of alliances, the PSL decided to ask its activists directly: what next? The results are clear – the organization does not want to flirt with the PiS.
A spokesperson for the Polish People's Party, Miłosz Motyka, reported that more than 70 percent of the organization members are in favour of maintaining the current ruling coalition. This is the effect of an interior survey conducted among PSL activists from all over Poland. At the same time, as many as 85 percent of respondents opposed any cooperation with the Law and Justice. These results are to be a clear signal: there will be no coalition with the Law and Justice or the Confederation.
— There's no coalition with the PiS and there won't be. This is clear from our members' replies “Motyka said in an interview with Polsat News.
The opinion was examined following reports of dissatisfaction of parts of the field structures following the failure of Rafał Trzaskowski in the presidential election. How the Service Revealed Opolska360, PSL activists in the Opolskie region received a survey with questions about possible political scenarios, including a hypothetical proposal to co-create a government with the PiS and the Confederate, headed by the leader of PSL Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. Polsat News confirmed that akin surveys were sent across the country.
Motyka emphasized that it was not any form of investigating a fresh political direction, but a standard, cyclical procedure.
— We conduct these tests regularly, all fewer months. There's no another bottom. “ He said.
The Ombudsman besides recalled that the PSL does not intend to cooperate with groups that undermine democratic principles.
— The Law and Order simply earned it... Anti-democratic parties are not cooperating He said.
The results of the survey besides showed that the vast majority of people – over 70 percent – want to proceed their current cooperation with partners from the Coalition on 15 October. The opponents of this course are, as Motyka said, a "political margin".
However, the appearance of the survey caused concern among the coalitions. Adrian Witczak of KO said that specified suggestions could be perceived as dishonesty towards voters:
— We went to elections with the motto of changing Poland after the governments of the Law and Justice. Any cooperation with them is an effort to trick voters.
Andrzej Szeptycki from Poland 2050 besides expressed doubts:
— I can't believe this thought came from Władysław Kosiniak-Kamish..
The urea has underestimated these concerns, indicating that the survey was of an interior nature and does not prejudge any decisions. However, he pointed out that loyalty and cohesion should apply to all sides of the current coalition.
— The question to our partners: do they truly want to stick to the centre course and bet on the economy and security, or do they want to go ideologically? He asked.
