According to the latest investigation conducted by the Warsaw Enterprise Institute (WEI), only 26% of Poles support the introduction of the euro in Poland. This is simply a crucial decrease compared to the beginning of 2024, erstwhile 31% of the population favoured the adoption of the single currency and 35% in 2023. This data shows a clear trend: the euro loses supporters in Poland.
Who's in favour and who's against the euro?
WEI study ‘With or without the euro. The future of Polish money” reveals that Euro enthusiasts are mainly entrepreneurs and their families. Among the benefits are:

On the another hand, The biggest group of skeptics are consumerswho fear:
- Price increase (70% women and 55% men),
- lower standard of living.
More opposed to the euro than men
The survey shows that 80% of women argue the introduction of the euro, whereas among men this percent is 66%. Experts explain this a applicable approach – women, more frequently managing home budgets, fear the negative impact of the single currency on household finances.
Young people don't want the euro either
Even among people up to 34 years of agewhich are traditionally more open to European integration, only 24% support the adoption of the euro. It is surprising, given that young Poles are frequently seen as more pro-European.
"Political procrastination" – why Poland avoids the euro?
The study says Polish political class has been delaying the decision to adopt the euro for years:
"If we do not gotta accept the euro now, let us do everything we can to adopt the euro at the latest. This is the consequence of the fact that the thought of adopting the euro in Polish society was never very sympathetic" – reads the WEI Communication.
Glapiński: Poland in the exclusive club of the largest gold holders
