The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy (MRPiPS) introduces revolutionary changes in the number of traineeships. The fresh rules will cover periods of early work on contract contracts, business activities and another forms of employment – even years ago!
Who will be covered by the fresh regulations?
According to the MRPiPS project, the following will be included in the traineeship:
- Periods of non-agricultural business activity,
- Time of cooperation with the individual active,
- Order and agency contracts,
- Working abroad,
- Membership of agricultural production cooperatives,
- Suspension of kid care activities (subject to payment of ZUS contributions).
The changes are intended to include even 2 million Poles, mainly young people who have not yet been able to number these periods as traineeships.
The fresh rules will work backwards
Minister stressed Agnieszka Dziemianovich-Bąk (Left) on Twitter:
“Work is work – everyone deserves respect and recognition! The Act prepared by the MRPiPS assumes that periods worked on contract or their own business will be included in the traineeship. due to the fact that work is work!”
New regulations will enter into force from 2026, but will take into account past periods of employment.

How do you prove your internship from erstwhile years?
The hotel explains that:
- The periods notified to the Social Insurance Institution will be confirmed by certificates from the Social Insurance Institution.
- In the case of undeclared or abroad work, the worker will gotta supply evidence on general terms (e.g. contracts, invoices, witness statements).
Benefits for employees
With the fresh regulations, employees will receive, among others:
- Longer leave – the dimension will emergence from 20 to 26 days after 10 years of internship,
- Higher clearances and Jubilee Awards,
- Better pension conditions.
When will they come into force?
The bill is presently under consultation, and its entry into force is planned for beginning of 2026.
