Marcin Drewicz: WARSZAWIAK Góral with an ANSWER. On the urban task “Repolonization of Warsaw” by Sebastian Pitonia: a small “for yes” and a small “for no”. Part 1: Before the project, it is about the alleged Palace of Culture.

Of course, the alleged Palace of Culture and discipline in Warsaw was the name of Józef Stalin, is and, as we hear, is to stay a russian seal on the rubble of Prewar Warsaw, the real 1 in which our Venerable Way of the Polish Republic was born. Parents. due to the fact that this postwar Warsaw, in which – since there is no another – was given birth to us, is already... untrue (sic!). We are real and Warsaw is not – specified is simply a paradox.

Yes, there are relics, places and people, especially on the right bank of the Vistula... But there are inactive those who see the Law Coast Warsaw, or Prague, as something different from left-coast Warsaw.

The celebrated Stefan Wiechecki "Wiech" (1896-1979) was located mostly in Śródmieście or Wola, or left-wing Warsaw. After the war, i.e. after (almost) the complete demolition of the same, “The Earth” in search of AUTHENTICITY (!!!) moved his literary-Gwaro-Warsaw interests from necessity behind the Vistula, to their destroyed Prague and to Targówek.

Let it be – each ancient city has respective numbered archeological layers: e.g. Troy I, Troy II, Troy III, etc. Let Warsaw be a small "antical", and what we see here "now", or "after the war", be called, alternatively mildly, "Warsaw II". What this Warsaw II is, you can see most rapidly from the first glance after entering the lift on this advanced view terrace on the mentioned Palace of Culture.

Of course, together with the alleged Palace of Culture besides this overwhelming tens of acres of emptying in the mediate of the "European capital", which the Palace is surrounded by, is besides a proof and a kind of monument – "horizontal" erstwhile the Palace "vertical" – destroying abroad power, not Catholic (because it is anti-Catholic), not Latin (because outside Latin), a common German-Soviet (sic!), squeezed in the very Wednesday of the capital of this wayward Polish and inactive despite everything Catholic nation.

Not this 1 to empty in Warsaw II, allies others, specified as the 1 neighbouring it from the north via Świętokrzyska Street or from the east via Marszałkowska Street, were built long ago "something" long ago.

People utilized to say, "The russian Army has been with you since you were a child"; and in Warsaw, together with it, Soviet Palace of Culture named Stalin. This palace, despite its intentions to remove it in the 1990s, survived the exit of the Red Army troops from Poland and survived the “Army” of the return after 2015, and the main “shock wave” of it since February 2022 (sacrifices leave or remove).

For what are these millions of crowds not uniformed now, but after the civil-dressed post-Soviet (other) people today, if not the fresh east Army this time not hiding here in isolated barracks, but already openly colonizing (sic!) Polish territory within its current state borders?

Of course, abroad force over Poland continues, although it is now conducted by another methods; specified that the average Warsaw transition, unlike in the years beginning in September 1939, does not know that it lives under abroad violence. The manifestation of this fresh force is – as Mr.Inż. Sebastian Pitoń in the film, which we will further callback – these "in global non-style" high-rise office buildings, which the mentioned "empty palace" has been able to build in the area west of it.

How many mentalities in us are not rather reflective of the 1 from a certain distance seen in Warsaw's “sky-line”, pompous that it is now “in us as in the West”, almost as in fresh York.

Recently, even a man at a very advanced state office on the occasion of the state celebration (or not the anniversary of the Miracle of the Vistula River, to complete the complete confusion with confusion) to prove how modern Poland is today, pointed to these advanced places, which are visible in the distance, together with the cuddled among them the Palace of Culture and shouts: "Let no 1 confuse: it is not fresh York City, it is our present Warsaw!"

Of course, the dying species of natives, or pre-war Warszawiaks, had at least animosity, and usually simply contempt and hatred at the very sight of the memorial socialist Palace of Culture, and considered how and erstwhile 1 could get free of this ferocious mark. And this reluctance did not alleviate the fact that – as Mr Pitoń rightly reminds us – the Attics of Kraków dressmakers are utilized here, and there are quoted the endings of Zamość houses, etc., and that besides to the interior finishing of this building – as we are adding here – good materials covered by good plan and construction (sic!) were used.

That's just the russian socialist “Lomonosov” and here's another one, farthest to the west. It is true: “Pushkin’s cock is not a bird, Polsza is not a foreigner”. present (Spring 2025) there is no way to go to Warsaw to not hear Pushkin’s singing speech even a fewer times (and Shevchenko’s somewhat harsh speech in Podwarszaw).

too – what we will come back to – in the Polish architectural tradition, for various reasons, there is no specified monumentalism as appropriate on the 1 hand Soviet, so godless (sic!) and on the another hand Latin, Italian or Spanish (yes! yes!), purely Catholic, the example of which are the various buildings of Rome (Italians besides built Tsarski Petersburg!), the Spanish Monastery-Palace Escorial of the 16th century, or the adjacent architectural ridge of the Valley of the late 20th century – it from the same time that the Palace of Culture was built in Warsaw!

In turn, the fresh Warsaw, or post-war inflowing population from all over Poland starting in 1945, was delighted to see the Palace of Culture, which was at the minute in the phase of specified fast construction – it lasted for up to 4 years! – shortly put into service in 1955; for such, and even a comparable "greatness" in their home sites was nowhere, as Poland was long and wide, but here is "in Warsiawa".

This was very beautiful for these people, along with “points for origin” (sic!), with “entry to the party”, with employment in “capital central institutions” (sic!) and “allocation of housing with conveniences” (sic!) in “new construction” (sic!). They could have despised all those among whom so far they had been raised (sic!), especially those aged far distant in the countryside of parents and their Catholic educational moral “obsolete” teachings (sic!).

Much would have been said about it; although not all of them behaved like this. And those who behaved so, and who, at the expense of others, benefited from all this socialism, present this enthusiasm of theirs is indiscriminate, to the settlements against them are outraged, and they powerfully convince that "John Paul the Second loved all, not rejecting anyone."

In the meantime, to us, the local grave diggers of Warsaw the First 1 did not necessarily gotta put the thought that "Culture Palace is ugly and bad". It was and is an apparent freely resulting from all possible contexts.

But... the appearance of the first, second and subsequent skyscrapers in the surrounding area from the 1990s The palace besides in our perception of the urban-architectonic reality there brought a change – in order to say so, opinions formulated present by Mr Pitonia. Furthermore, in any distance from the Palace isolated glass and these glass “capitalistic” skyscrapers were placed in Warsaw already “for communes”.

Let us add that they were besides in the days of games (the 1970s) the Warsawers did not like, for example, not so far from the Palace Hotel Forum, built by Swedes. After a triumph in 1974, the football squad of Poland under the leadership of the head of the head of the head coach of the Mountain over the Swedes appeared in Śródmieście inscriptions on the wall: “1:0 behind the 'Forum'”.

Mr. Engineer Pitoń draws our attention today, clearly justifying the architectural-artistic features and even the advantages (!) of the Palace of Culture. Slowly, slowly! Come on! Nevertheless, we, already a 4th of a century ago (!), comparing the Palace of Culture with what was about its tallness then started to be raised, admitted that in this peculiar and peculiar arrangement of mention it was the Palace "that it is yet, let it be a socialist and hostile, but an architecture".

These fresh skyscrapers are surely no longer architecture; for they are only a manifestation of construction, and yet this is something of another architecture.

Together with Mr. Sebastian Piton, we are now facing an architecturally urban-impossible situation (!) even worse than this "at the threshold of traformation" of the 1990s. For 36 years, for a generation and a half, Polish patriots have not succeeded in removing the Palace of Culture from Warsaw – if there were any who truly tried to do so.

In addition, the "international capital" has added to us already many skyscrapers in order to build the Palace, to give it a wider background in the form of likewise advanced and at the same time comparatively close to it erected structures, and through this... confirmation of leaving the Palace in its place, and these skyscrapers together with it. A wise Pole after all! Polish willow always grows crooked! It's done! What's done is done! surely not soon, since according to a well - known message from among human works, time fears only Egyptian pyramids.

Far East Wisdom, the main regulation of judo, suggests, “Repent to win.” But the triumph in the form of the disappearance from Warsaw of this Palace of Culture and discipline presently does not appear in any predictable perspective.

And it is only in specified a common atmosphere among people who "want to stay Poles" to resign, expressed by the universal "swinging of hands" and mixed with universal indifference that abruptly comes with his project, Sebastian Pitoń.

In another words: nevertheless pro-Polish and pro-Catholic expression will be given to this task of building areas around the Palace of Culture and any sculptural treatments on the Palace itself (sic!), this will be the consequence of the prior submission by us-Poles of the already materialized besides much money of the will of strangers and hostile elements, whose abroad will is expressed at the beginning of the Palace of Culture, standing in its place for seventy years, and after it these glass skyscrapers, which number present besides decades. How do you cheer up? possibly through musical-hymical analogy:

any present challenge the usage of “Mazurek Dąbrowski” as a Polish anthem, in addition to its first verse, rather convincingly to say justifying. Others would prefer, referring to the sentiments of independency a 100 years ago, to have the song “God Something Poland...” as a Polish national ecclesiastical anthem. Opponents of this thought indicate atola that the first version of it was created already during the period of Poland's submission. And who's subject?

This is... the schismattic Tsar of Moscow! In response, they hear that “Mazurek Dąbrowski” was besides created under conditions of strict subordination of Polish affairs, but to individual else, that is, the Masonic-Revolutionary Freedom French Empire, at the heights of his power.

So bad and so bad. Here is the subservience, and there is the subservience, and on the another hand the subservience. Even if only the last 5 years (2020-2025) and especially this arch-inertive reaction of the Polish-speaking general to the then-applicable nations of events attest to the mentality of today's Poles to anyone and anything, everything-one-to-one, let it be a small more powerful and for only a fewer weeks repeated stimulus from mass media. Like flags in the wind. Like sheep without a shepherd. What independence! What a loss!

It is so worth looking at the proposal of Mr.Inż. Sebastian Pitonia, who, in terms of his professional and creative specialization, tries to give a sign to his fellow countrymen, but besides to foreigners, that this is – hola! hola! – for Poland not all is lost.
