U.S. president Donald Trump in an interview with journalists stated that he would be happy to become Pope himself. However, as it is impossible, he gave the name of the cardinal, who he thought would be very suitable for this role.
Donald Trump's favourite is, of course, Cardinal Timothy Dolan of fresh York. It's a hierarch who claims to represent the conservative wing of the U.S. Episcopate. He's in good relations with the Republicans. He conducted the prayer during Trump's 2 inaugurations – both in 2021 and 2025. Recently, Dolan said that the Church needs a pope who will scope to tradition more willingly than Francis.
