– Expulsions from Germany are entirely lawful due to the fact that they concern cases where there is no asylum application. I made it possible. I called all the heads of state and prime ministers of the countries neighbouring Germany and said: "We are doing this now and you must accept it due to the fact that it is possible under European law," said the German Chancellor yesterday, quoted by ARD TV.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced this during a tv debate with opposition leader Friedrich Merzem of CDU/CSU. The Head of Government peculiarly stressed his actions towards forcing decisions on the leaders of neighbouring countries. Scholz reported that he had personally contacted Prime Ministers of countries bordering Germany, including Donald Tuski, to convince them to accept plans to deport migrants. He argued that these activities were full in line with European law and service to guarantee order in the German migration system.

Both Tusk and Rafał Trzaskowski must be devastated by the disclosure of these facts. This totally contradicts the declared opposition to the Migration Pact. Scholz said that the Pact to enter into force next year would be a key tool in managing the influx of migrants into Germany. Scholz stressed that the fresh rules would facilitate the return of migrants, which is in line with existing European law.

Merz pointed out that over 2 million illegal immigrants had arrived in Germany during Scholz's word of office. In response, Scholz undertook to introduce permanent border controls, while stressing that temporary remedies have already reduced the number of asylum applications.

“Although the number of deportations is increasing, our results are inactive not satisfactory”, said Scholz, emphasising the request for further action.
