Historical calendar: the anniversary of the death of 1 of the most prominent Polish novelists and novelists – Aleksandra Głowacki, a.k.a. Bolesław Prus.

Aleksander Głowacki was born on 20 August 1847 in Hrubieszów. His parents came from impoverished Polish nobles, and his father worked as an economist. Moreover, the boy rapidly became an orphan. He started his education at the Regional Real School in Lublin, and continued it in Kielce, where he moved with his elder brother Leon – a past teacher. After graduating from the gymnasium, Prussia decided to survey at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the Warsaw Main School. However, he struggled with financial problems due to the fact that the tutor’s work did not bring much profit to him, resulting in his leaving school. He had a variety of professions, yet trying to compose texts.

The social article “Our Sins” published in 1872 is widely regarded as the debut of Prussia. “Home Care” magazine. That's erstwhile the writer's adventure with journalism began. Both his first popular scholarly texts and his columnists appeared. He then decided that he would sign only serious articles with his name, and another artistic work would be published under the pseudonym Bolesław Prusai, which was a mention to his noble coat of arms of Prussia I.

He was active with various magazines, and his large success was to take over the editorial magazine “Nowina” in 1882.
