In early April 2024, Damian Soból, a Polish volunteer working with the planet Central Kitchen relief organization, was killed as a consequence of Israeli ghetto fire in Gaza. His death caused a stir, both in aid environments and among national-patriot circles in Poland. Despite the passage of time, the Polish prosecution failed to lead to a breakthrough. Reason: non-cooperation from Israel and its subordinates from the United States.

Israel is inactive blocking the investigation into Damian Sobol's murder. The car that the employees of planet Central Kitchen, including a Pole, traveled to, was hit just after entering the northern part of the Gaza Strip. The mission was to supply humanitarian assistance to the people of the region. 7 people were killed in the attack.

The Industrial territory Attorney's Office launched an investigation on April 2, 2024, qualifying the event as a homicide, in connection with the usage of explosives by Israeli forces. A year and a half after the tragedy, many key issues have inactive not been explained — mainly due to the fact that Israel and the United States do not respond to Polish requests for legal assistance and the provision of evidence.

Moreover, in June 2024, the Polish MFA applied to the Swiss global Humanitarian Commission for Facts uncovering for a report. This paper was to contain the findings on the event. However, neither the information from the committee nor the position of the Polish government — adopted in December 2024 — was made public. Ministry of abroad Affairs reasons the deficiency of diplomatic secrecy to disclose these papers — it cites the request to defend the interests of Poland and the image of the country internationally.

The case of Damian Sobol's death shows not only the helplessness of the Polish state towards stronger allies, but besides the arrogance of Israel, which, without any consequences, can carry out armed actions in which foreigners are killed – even those who bring humanitarian aid. Refusing to cooperate with investigators and blocking key information proves that the Israeli state is above the law and above morality.

The Polish public has the right to ask: why does the life of a Polish citizen not deserve a full explanation? Why has Israel, utilizing global support for decades, avoided work for its own military activities?

This must be made clear: until Israel has a work to account for specified tragedies, it will be seen not as a partner, but as a state that ignores human life and the laws of nations smaller than itself.
