U.S. president Donald Trump told CNN station on Wednesday that he might consider allowing Israel to resume war in the Gaza Strip if Hamas refuses to comply with his part of the ceasefire agreement.
CNN asked what would happen if Hamas refused to disarm. – I'm reasoning about it. Israel will return to these streets as shortly as I say the word. If Israel could come back and kick their ass, he would. said Trump.
– This will shortly explain what's going on with Hamas. said the president in a short telephone conversation with CNN.
Trump besides stated that Hamas "walks and removes gangs, violent gangs". – I'm researching it. – assured, answering the question whether it is possible that Hamas execute innocent Palestinians.
Earlier on Wednesday, the American army called on Palestinian Hamas to halt force against civilians and disarm themselves. Since the truce on Friday Hamas has taken control of the abandoned areas of Israel. The group reports that it kills members of "gangs" and Israeli collaborators.
On Sunday, the U.S. president said Hamas received a temporary approval to “fight crime”. On Tuesday, he added that he was not afraid about the killings of Hamas in the Gaza Strip due to the fact that the group is fighting “very bad gangs”.
The first phase of the truce has been in force since Friday. Israeli troops withdrew from parts of the Gaza Strip, but inactive control about half of this territory. There was besides the exchange of live Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners. Hamas hasn't released the bodies of all the hostages killed yet.
The second phase of the agreement involves Hamas laying down arms, handing over power to the Gaza Strip to the Palestinian Interim Administration under global supervision, creating stabilisation forces and rebuilding the territory.
