Today, at the age of 96, Jean-Marie Le Pen died. present he died at the age of 96 Jan Maria Le Pen. Unquestionable leader of the French national right, politician of the old style, man faithful to his views, leader of the National Front. He was the last crucial politician of old Europe.
In the second half of the 1990s and subsequent years, it was a point of mention for us young nationalists. We wanted the strength and momentum of the French National Front, and in Poland there was more like mirage. We read with baking inept translations of interviews with Le Pen in unprofessional national writings.
In 2001, 2002 and 2003 I was a Stow activist. Not for the EU, but for a associate of the Social Movement, an alternate invited by Jan Maria Le Pen to Paris. I took the invitation 3 times. I was at a gathering of anti-EU leaders, a training camp for the youth of the National Front, and during the 2002 presidential campaign. The last journey was long due to the fact that it was 2 weeks old. The National Front provided accommodation in the castle-hotel, catering, excursions and materials. We paid for the journey ourselves. Our visit was informative. We didn't sign any cooperation papers.
Bruno Gollnisch took care of us at the time. An highly interesting experience was to see the election run -manifests, blockades, poster and flyer actions, printing works, concerts. At the time, in Poland, it looked a bit unfavorable. I met Jean-Marie Le Pen many times, we besides had breakfast and dinner together.
Jean-Marie Le Pen was a fascinating talker with a large sense of humor. He loved France and was arrogant of it. He besides loved the old Europe. Both its France and its Europe were just beginning to fall apart. Even though we were young, he took us seriously and talked to us seriously. I remembered that he was pouring us wine and serving us various meats. Quail, among another things. I remembered that due to the fact that they were served with heads, which someway made me laugh. Meals I remembered well due to the fact that they were long meetings with orthodoxly French cuisine, where the leader of the National Front discussed matters related to the election campaign. His coworkers sat at the tables around, us and another abroad guests at Le Pen's table.
We young nationalists then failed. We were expecting a national radical. We met a witty centrist, fascinated by the character Lech Walesa. Along with us were activists of another political formations, including NOP, PWN-PSN and KPN-OP. The latter, tried to present Le Pen with “black cards” from the résumé of Wałęsa. How Polish. The host firmly concluded this conversation, and decidedly asked not to criticize president Lech Walesa any more. What we heard from Le Pen then present is repeated by sensible law and left politicians across Europe. Then I wrote the main points of his monologue:
The European Union must be a collection of independent countries.
Uncontrolled emigration is deadly to Europe.
We should work with the United States, but keep our distance.
NATO should be careful, due to the fact that it will search war on Russia.
The existence of Israel is in Europe's interest.
Arab dictators specified as Hussein should be supported, as they are a warrant of stability.
Europe must be Christian due to the fact that it is part of its identity.
Russia should be part of Europe.
Europe's people must have more children.
Radicalism must be avoided due to the fact that it leads the formation astray.
Poland was a country for him, opposition to communism and the homeland of John Paul II and Lech Wałęsa. His stories about the National Camp did not give him much interest. He has undermined our extremist anti-EU approach. He was convinced that the request for a Europe of homelands based on a decalogue and a competition with Russia for the United States. He felt that the substance of Poland's membership was doomed. He minimized the German threat and exaggerated the British. At least that's erstwhile we saw it. As it turned out, he was right to fear Europe's quarrel with Russia, thanks to the United States and the United Kingdom. The last thing that amazed us was his welfare. He was truly worried about the jobs of French workers and farmers. He spoke a lot about the others. He emphasized the importance of patience in politics.
Funny stuff. In the morning there were trident Masses held in his private chapel, which the Polish delegation alternatively avoided. powerfully old ladies, run monarchs have repeatedly drawn his attention to this. Le Pen signed our absence with an interesting note, whether we are definitely Polish. Another comic thing was the bodyguards of the leader of the National Front, 1 of them was the powerful were the skinhead by the name Zaduchek. As it later turned out from the origins of the Czech Gypsy. In general, we were amazed at how many black and Asians identified themselves with ideas preached by Le Pen.
