Zbigniew Rokita, 1989, is simply a reporting author and author of theatre plays. In 2021, he earned the literary prize NIKE, awarded annually to talented national scribes by Gazeta Wyborcza and Wydawnictwo AGORA.
I decided to read a freshly published book by the author, “DRESSING a Journey to Recovered Lands”. I bought it. Sentiment: the father belonged to an army of youth delegated after the war by the authorities on the “Recovered Land” with the task of urgent preparation for Polish settlement – organizing jobs for Polish settlers, including those returning to Kresowiak homeland and forced workers from Germany and France. So it was my dad, from his grandfather's large grandpa Poznańek, from 1945 to 1948 he organized production in a German clothing mill in Lower Silesia, in Boguszów (God's Mount) close Wałbrzych. He drew an enthusiastic group of relatives, friends, and friends. They were all young, engrossed in their freedom and the chance to have a normal, better life. Where they were going, all head and all pair of hands mattered. The robots were in the dust.
For the remainder of his life he remained arrogant of what he managed to do on this part of fresh Poland's land. Then he recalled, recorded, and in a modest collection of black and white photographs. Just under the beginning subject of the first chapter of the book, I find the author’s innocent remark: “Recovered lands” is simply a propaganda word (sic!) popularized after the war. He's expected to suggest. that Poland did not receive the post-German lands, but recovered them. [..] A better word would be "Effective Earth" or "Acquired." “Propagan termin”?! I don't get it. Yes, it was propaganda, but it was done in the best religion and in a substance for us fundamental. He dyed his hub roots. I don't see why I'm curving. From this part of reading, I became certain in which direction – political and ideological – the author sails. I didn't fail.
Peter-Schucs Brian, lecturer at the University of Michigan, author of the title „A beautiful average country. The past of Poland without martyrdom,” he says in “Soviet and Polish communists” from the same thick pipe. Quot: “In order to justify (sic!) the takeover of the western territories, a kind of mythology has been created.[.] That is why 1 of the most lying terms (sic!) in the communist novem came to life.” The passage can be considered “strong”, especially in individual who undertook to find out in his book that “Poland is neither a collective martyr nor a collective villain”. The author of “Odzania”, a Pole, as well as the aforementioned American investigator and hosts of another publishers of the same opinions, it is appropriate to ask, what kind of mortal sin, hostile to reason and morality, and at last it was incompatible with the interests of Poland and Poles to name the "Recovered Earth" possessions? I ask, who was it that hurt and hurt intellectually and ethically!?
The "destroying" approach to sources and consequences of "Jalta and Potsdam" is among the fashionable among any Western researchers and their many Polish followers. The same spirit was expressed by Robert Bevin, British abroad Minister. By the way: 1 can realize the Polish infatuation with the West: with western prosperity, including the offer of free charms on which the inhabitants of the People's Poland disposed. The complications of history, so the ones we had zero influence on, anchored us for respective decades in the Moscow sphere of influence. This did not mean only loss, suffering and ailments, which has been lyingly and unreflexively ground for many years in mainstream media. besides in “Election”. The post-war era of Poland – People's – has gained considerable profits: economic, social, geographical, especially, which it has been about present and for years, at most, it will haunt. She's silent in political intent. The reason for taking water in the mouth is simple: “communists” cannot have any merit due to the fact that storms are a fresh order. The profits were reserved for anti-communist exclusivity. We've been mediocre past students forever.
In my opinions and views on the past of the Homeland, in peculiar the latest ones, I focus on reason and my own learning, which I work hard to strengthen with the opinions of conscious publicists and scientists, in people, among others: Andrzej Walicki, Bronisław Łagowski, Zygmunt Bauman, Karol and Witold Modzelewski, Louis Stomma, Andrzej Werblan and others. Following a reasonable publicist, I say that the post-war profits in general – nevertheless to measurement them and calculate them – have pierced the full costs that we had to bear. And most importantly, another, especially real, option was not and could not be. The alternate may have been the 3rd War, which, apart from the fanatized part of the alleged Polish elites, especially those on emigration, nobody in Europe and in the planet wanted. Returning to “Odzania”: after patiently reading the letter and spirit of literary reportage of the pen The Rokyts came to the conclusion that under a mask of concern for the memory of the people and events of that place and time, well-written scribe, there is, in one, infantile beauty of the spirit, and a vengeful propagandist. The publication appears to me as a proverbial barrel of literary honey with a solid dose of historical pain. I have this problem with Rokita's work, that at the same time I admire and do not digest; I consider it to be good literaryly, subjectively honest, at the same time fatally intentional; unreliable in the survey of the alleged historical truth. The punches are drawn to the limits. Opite with vindictiveness that marks the misunderstanding of issues essential to the place, time and historical circumstances with which the author takes literaryly behind bars. I do not intend to review in item the literary fruit of Zbigniew Rokity's talent, which found an outlet in the title and in respective earlier books of the author. No doubt, the “split” is written with passion and love for the subject. But I dare say that it is love of the blind and erring kind. It has something in it that the image of the past of the Earth Recovered – the real one, so as was fundamentally real, muddy and makes indigestion in reading. At least for individual who deeper, without ritual bias, amateur studies the subject. I am more “wise” than Rokata by more than forty years of my life. I know what I know. I dare say, therefore, that the author demonises the worse sides of this historical phenomenon and the postwar process of the Polishand. It silences, comparatively diminishes the benefits and merits. Of course, he has the right to compose whatever he wants. I have the right to express my own view. I powerfully say that it is not acceptable to harm the merits of people who participated in the work of the union with Poland of spiritual acquisitions.
The author of the “Retard” usually does so. The book is full of hateful references to “Soviets” and Polish “communists”. These phrases are an invector in Rokita. The post-war authorities of the Republic of Poland do not honor the author as “Polish”. It is always and inactive "communists", so, of course, the inferior, "imported in a briefcase from Moscow" political and human species. As far as the Soviets are concerned, it is simply a natural and human wilderness. The russian soldate (sic!) describes as a savage troglodite, “with a mouth for 1 wash”. In his eyes (also a soldier) met in the born Odrenad, the Germans melt into a herd of cattle.” Everything that this soldier knows, feels and understands (his worlds and afterlife will fit into a fewer words. Otherwise, he would have gone crazy. These fewer words frequently include “times”, “weaning” and “pussy”.
It is no secret that the 3rd Reich civilian population suffered cruelly from the Red Army in the war finale. A part of Polish autochthons from advanced Silesia and Kaszub were besides killed. The army that was scurrying towards Berlin was usually taking revenge on Germanic cruel men. It was for what, which we didn't mention at all. Forgets. The importance of intellectual fashion is notoriously reminiscent of the murders and rapes committed by the Soviets on the German population, with zero reflection on the apparent pre-cause of these atrocities; without leaning over the gargantuan size of the crimes—also rapes—by the SS and the "roaring Wermacht" on the east front of the war. In the circulation of promoted historical knowledge, German crimes committed on Russians, Belarusians and Ukrainians are on a creative margin. They are left out – displaced by “Soviet hell” cooked to German civilians. Who would care present about hundreds of thousands of “Soviets” destroyed and tormented in many ways? The old generation, who survived and remembered the war, and the early-after-war memory of parents and grandparents that was not healed, passed away, comparatively at the threshold of departure. Returning to “Odzania”: the inclusion of a postulate in Poland was burdened with a long-established political and human price, but in general it proved beneficial for us. The recall, for the time being, of the profits of this title would be inscribed in the recidivism of truisms. I have no uncertainty that the post-war authorities of Poland have shown liable wisdom at all stages of this historical process. The attempts to question and confuse their image – which has been practiced in us for years – are ahistoric. Marginally besides weighs the argument utilized for this – it is subordinate to the main substance regardless of bumps and bends in which we fell at all stages of formatting their Polishness. I have the impression that the “Reclamation” was written as honestly as in the intention of incenseing post-lidarist mothers from history, besides to delight uneducated readers, bent on fighting “communism and the Soviets”.

Here is another flower of the historical thought of the author Rokita: “And just after the war, the restoration of Gdańsk or Warsaw is simply a gift of the heavens (sic!). They get a chance to show that they are Poles, that they are not brought in in a briefcase from Moscow Bolsheviks, but Polish patriots who care about Polish monuments, even churches". No words as to how specified foolishness can be written by individual who most likely feels European. Yes, an intellectual and a worldly man. It was not better to get out of the thick pipe, to teach the reader that the actual gift of heaven to the “communists” was the full terrible war. Thus, in its aftermath we found ourselves on the "worse side of the iron curtain" – in the regulation of the Soviets and Polish (tfu) communists.
The Polish national interest in the post-war efforts of the Polish authorities, which were made to tame Polish areas acquired from the defeated Germany, is 1 of the mediocre and unauthorized ones. He describes and perceives them in a hateful way, which is typical of the environment of the Polish political and social salon. Some of the interviewers of Rokita say that the memory of the beginnings of Polish past “Western lands”, especially Gdańsk and Szczecin, was covered with the memory of “Solidarity”. It counts since 1980.. 1 of these correctly concludes: “Polish Szczecin before “Solidarity” is forgotten. (..) The times of the Polish People's Republic are being celebrated, the anniversary is being celebrated without reflection and utilizing increasingly awkward words specified as ‘the pioneer’ As for the conclusions, consent, but the reason for this fragment of Polish historical memory is defined by the author mistakenly. They weren't spontaneous. I wonder what the hell I'm wasting my time for – let me live as long as possible! – to argue with the work of mediocre historically flights. Who's even gonna read me? And what will that change?! I was hoping that after my democracy, my homeland would end with political harassment and iniquities, from which, allegedly, there was a swarm of communion. I keep after years that it is worse in this respect. Much worse. The integrity and morality of politics, if it means anything, besides in the popular model of life, for which Solidarity strove, and what was about to triumph, became an emptiness. In home and abroad politics, cynicism, hypocrisy and vengeful ruthlessness reign. Polish mainstream media are barely free. From hypocrisy, the politics of the United States, our main ally, have swelled. And a mentor. Damn it!
