Since January 2024 drivers in Poland are waiting for crucial changes concerning mandatory car equipment. New car equipment – what must be in the vehicle?

- No AEB system: mandate up to PLN 2000
- No LKA system: mandate up to PLN 1500
- No reversing camera: mandate up to PLN 1000
- No Tyre force Sensors (TPMS): mandate up to PLN 500
- No driver fatigue monitoring system: mandate up to PLN 800
Additionally, police have the right to prohibit further driving in a vehicle that does not meet the fresh requirements until they are met.
What does this mean for older car owners?
The owners of older vehicles registered before 2024 will not be obliged to install fresh systems immediately. However, if they are sold or re-registered, it will be essential to adapt the vehicle to the current regulations.

To avoid problems, it is worth checking now whether our car meets fresh requirements. If the vehicle does not have the required equipment, it may be considered to upgrade it or to acquisition a fresh model that meets the latest safety standards.
