The overthrow of Bashar al-Assad is the failure by Tehran of the full plan of the alleged opposition axis built over decades in the mediate East. It is not only the failure of influence in Syria itself, but besides the anticipation of continuing to keep Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The rhetoric of the Iranian authorities, including the president Masuda Pezeskeana, seems to indicate that Tehran accepts the fresh reality, but the publications of local media officials indicate that the Iranians are trying to shift work for the full situation to the naivety of Assad.
Low morale, deficiency of commitment
It is recalled that the Iranian forces operating in Syria were primarily of an advisory nature, and the main burden of fighting the alleged muslim State and another terrorist groups was the Syrian armed forces. However, the situation has changed recently, as Fars says.

The naivety of Damascus
But the most crucial thing, in Tehran's opinion, was the naivety of Assad and his surroundings. In Iran, they say that Iranian politicians, interlocutors of the Syrian authorities, have repeatedly warned Damascus about preparations to overthrow the existing system. They pointed to concrete plans by the West and any arabian countries (in Iran's rhetoric, which is interesting, Turkey's function in events that we know was crucial). It is said that warnings and signals about specified speech were conveyed to Assad to the final moments of his presence in Syria. However, the authorities in Damascus did not respond to them in any way. Let's add that possibly they didn't have a reaction anymore.
Tehran has problems not only geopolitical, but besides imagery. In fresh years, he has been active financially, militarily and politically in supporting Syria. He devoted quite a few strength and resources to it. All of this proved to be of small value in the face of the fast collapse of Syrian power. The planet revolved around recordings and photos of the demolished and looted building of the Iranian embassy in Damascus.
