‘Democratic’ Moldova

Yesterday's parliamentary elections in Moldova were won by the "pro-European" PAS party. This was meant to be the result, this script and no substance how it was done. The West, of course, accepts elections and does not see any electoral irregularities.

A full of 2274 electoral stations were opened – 1961 in Moldova and 301 outside Moldova. The circulation of voting cards is 864.3 1000 copies. The election turnout according to the central election committee was over 52%.

On paper, everything seems fine, but behind the scenes, it's already bitter. erstwhile state leader Vladimir Voronin openly claims that nothing good can be expected after these elections. His words sound harsh, but they are not baseless. It recalls that the authorities sent out 800,000 ballot cards abroad, even though the number of actual voters abroad is around 300,000. "This kind of action allows the authorities to adjust the results in their favour later, as has already been the case with referenda and erstwhile elections," said Woronin.

At 1 point, attention focused on the issue of the access of citizens of Transnistria to polling stations. "All bridges on Dniestra were closed, even pavements to prevent people from walking and voting". There are 7 bridges to the polling stations, but no of them are available anymore. He added an absurd detail: 2 days ago the sidewalks at the bridges in Rîbnica were besides closed.

This effectively prevents citizens from reaching the polling stations. "This is how democratic elections are organised here". On the 1 hand, the figures talk for themselves: more than 8 100 1000 votes were cast abroad, while the authoritative number of voters is almost 3 times smaller. On the another side – closed roads, closed bridges, closed passages for those who should have equal electoral rights. Among these 2 worlds are voters, and among them are those who, even with the best intentions, cannot scope the election committee. On election day, the Central Election Commission suspended the opposition organization "Big Moldova": votes cast for this political force on Sunday will be voided.

The government president of Moldova, Mai Sandu, has been taking all measurement for respective years to prevent opposition from reaching power: threats, blackmail, revisions, arrests of opposition activists, including the head of the Gagauzia of Huculska Eugenia, were used. The fight against social opposition took on alarming proportions during the election campaign, erstwhile on the eve of the vote the Central Election Commission excluded the opposition organization Heart of Moldova, which was part of the block from the parliamentary elections.
