The European Commission has launched an excessive deficit procedure for Poland and this information may be amazed only by ignorant or hypocritical people. Since both categories have a large representation among politicians, it is politicians who are the loudest in their garments, and yet It's all been clear since I gave it.. In the EU, most cases are complicated or complex, but the excessive deficit procedure is an exception and a cliché. It is known that this procedure is being launched if the country exceeds 3% of the GDP deficit or public debt is over 60% of GDP.
When the government of Mateusz Morawiecki announced the budget for 2023, it was immediately clear that the deficit would exceed 5%, and what was more, this parameter was not peculiarly critical of the opposition due to the fact that it was seriously justified. 5% of the deficit is the consequence of a compromise that both sides of the political dispute have never agreed to. Poland has decided to radically rise defence spending and hence it is simply a conscious increase in deficit. In addition, during the pandemic, the EU turned a blind eye to rough thresholds and many countries benefited. There has now been a return to the starting state, but this does not mean that Poland could not avoid the procedure if only the government and Donald Tusk themselves wanted it.
As we know, Tusk accepted the budget after Morawiecki and added respective tens of billions of debt, mainly generated by increases for teachers and the budget. Almost surely already the budget would should be revised if Tusk had only fulfilled 1 of his promise to increase the tax-free amount to PLN 60 000. It is so actual that the Morawiecki government has created a budget with an excessive deficit, but Tusk has not only approved specified a budget, but has added respective tens of billions of debt to himself.
However, there is something else interesting about this, namely the passiveness of Donald Tusk's government in negotiations with the EU. In any miraculous way, Poland obtained funds from the KPO, although it did not meet any requirements imposed on the Moravian government. And Donald Tusk boasted that he would do it all himself in a fewer days. The reality was not so pink, but the fact remains that it was adequate to change the Prime Minister and power in Poland so that the EU would abruptly cease to be curious in laws and another indicators. Why didn't Tusk usage the same magic and his expected force of leverage in the case of a deficit, although he could simply explain his defence spending?
When you look at the political activity of Donald Tusk, especially on the portal “X”, where he writes only about PiS and Kaczyński all day, the mystery solves itself. Tusk has just been initiated by the EC procedure, due to the fact that it will enable it to quit any task which is simply a political burden for him, from the amount free, by the CPK, to atomic power plants. Tusk did not worry at all and did not take any countermeasures, but it seems that he encouraged the European Commission to supply him with arguments to “do nothing”.
The leader of the “coalition 13 ore” always has something to say, does not avoid boasting and threatening, but practically does not talk in this peculiar case. It does not promise to do so in the EU, as for KPO, does not alarm that the EC weakens Poland's defensive position and even entering the Kremlin's communicative does not blackmail. This is simply a adequate package of crucial signals to draw a clear conclusion. Donald Tusk's excessive deficit procedure fell from the sky, and there is besides a serious suspicion that he himself sought to initiate it in bullet talks.
