New Fees: What changes?
According to the fresh price list, mBank customers will gotta pay PLN 5 for cash withdrawal from abroad ATMs and Euronet. Even the usage of ATMs will no longer be free, as a commission of PLN 2.5 will be charged for withdrawals below PLN 300. In addition, the bank besides introduces a fee of PLN 2 for cash withdrawal at the store cash registry (cashback). Required amounts of remuneration, exempting Intensive customers from payment for the account, are raised from PLN 7 1000 to PLN 10 1000 net.
The mBank representatives explain these changes to the increase in service costs resulting from the overall increase in the prices of goods and services over the last 2 years. However, this argument did not calm any customers who expressed discontent with the fresh charges.
Customer consequence and position on the Future
Among mBank customers there were voices threatening to liquidate accounts and search alternate solutions. Most customers are afraid that fresh charges can importantly increase the costs of utilizing the bank, especially for people frequently utilizing cash.
Meanwhile, in the wider European context, the European Union is considering a limit of EUR 10 000 for cash transactions. However, this thought is met with criticism, both in Germany and Poland, where concerns concern about the failure of freedom to choose the form of payment.
