The monument is simply a kind of pin stuck in a staff map. It means the area you've captured. Means the area that is NASZ. The monument is besides a kind of summary of a textbook or historical monograph. Abbreviation – triggering immediate associations. Names and dates cast in bronze and forged in stone perpetuate the facts, rise interest and sometimes provoke to find out who the people presented were. The monument sets the hierarchy. He's got heroes all over the place. Non-heroes are forgotten, and if they were lifted out of the way by any combination of accidents, they would be thrown out of the way.
Many monuments could be created in Poland, but they do not exist, due to the fact that different people are not comfortable. The Warsaw conflict monument has already been thought of in the Second Poland. They thought, but nothing came of it. Nor was the Temple of Divine Providence built. The country was faced with a serious economical crisis, but most of all there was a deficiency of political will. Only a monument of Father Ignacy Skorupka was prepared. He was going to stand on a red travertine. The preparations ended the war. Satan's past chichot made the survivor usage after the war for a monument to the Polish russian arms fraternity.
Although the Nazis didn't like us so much with the Bolsheviks they hated us even more. During the German occupation, honoring the heroes of this conflict was by no means possible.
Also after the war, the plan to commemorate the conflict of Warsaw had no chance to implement it. Although many truly valuable publications were published in cooperation with the historians and archivists of the USSR – e.g. collections of papers concerning the January Uprising, but everything that showed Polish opposition to Bolsheviks was a taboo theme.
The bankruptcy of the strategy and the free marketplace changes did not bring much change. All those who hoped for a intellectual continuation of the sanitation and return to the patterns of the Second Polish Republic miscalculated. Worse still, there was no hard settlement of the crimes of PZPR, MO and SB. fewer trials by UB officials resulted in symbolic sentences. There was besides no effort to radically cut off from the very roots of Bolshevikism. In the 1990s, at the University of Warsaw, a ellipse of young Marxists worked completely legally and under educational supervision. In fact, after the fall of the commune, the process of mythology and nostalgization of the PRL period began. In schools and advanced schools, alternatively of rebuilding patriotism, we had the pedagogy of shame. alternatively of telling us about the captain of Pilecki and his mission, we were screwed for alleged crimes committed in the Jews. The effects of decades of educational negligence are seen outside the window today.
Projects of construction of the monument of the conflict of Warsaw appeared and rapidly departed into organizational non-existence. Different tricks were used. Sometimes things were brought to absurdity by promoting concepts of idiotic, or gargantuan constructions, more frequently things just died surrounded by dead media silence.
You gotta say it hard. As long as people with short genealogy rule, ideas of this kind will be rapidly and violently cut or put distant forever. People who frequently don't even wear the names of their grandparents see past and patriotic values as a threat. There is no specified thing as independency left in Poland and there will never be one. No government containing a component of the post-communist parties will accomplish this purpose.
Unfortunately for the full picture, it must be added that in the last 35 years, twice in power was a widely understood patriotic camp under the leadership of the Law and Justice. In total, they ruled for almost 30% of this period. Unfortunately, the PiS slept over the memorial case. And to make matters worse, it wasn't the only case that this government was swamped with.
The attitude of the current authorities to Russia has shown us a powerful documentary series "Reset". For what was done at the time, no 1 even suffered symbolic consequences. The ruling coalition did not find even proverbial scapegoats in its midst. We must so presume that this reset has only been temporarily frozen, and as shortly as the "Ukrainian question" is someway resolved, both the European Union and the Polish authorities will return to doing business with Putin's regime. In this situation, a memorial would be an unnecessary boil spoiling the fresh hand. Ergo: As long as Tusk's squad rules, there is no way to number on state commemoration of our ancestors.
I'm looking at our crippled Homeland. Over the last 3 decades, many events worth commemorating and many circular anniversarys have been missed. We have no monument to the conflict of Warsaw. The planned Mound of John Paul II in Krakow was not put to sleep. There was no planned monument to Danuta Kodakina “Inki”. all time something was done, the modest success of the ransomed was humiliating and discouraging conflict with authorities and officials. Wojciech Siódmak for many years sought in his household Wieluń a monument “Eternal Love” – paying tribute to the victims of the barbaric Nazi raid. After years of effort, Rotmaster Pilecki's monument was erected – in a unusual place and powerfully ugly. Many years passed before the Volyn massacre was commemorated. And in this case, the erected monument is visually repulsive.
But there is simply a tiny light of hope. We have late seen the unveiling of a monument of Polish driving paying tribute to the participants of the conflict of Komarov. The monument is besides elegant and artistically tasteful. possibly the conflict of Warsaw will always happen?
