PARIS- AviLease, a fast-growing aircraft lessor headquartered in Saudi Arabia, has confirmed a major fleet expansion with Airbus.
Announced at the 2025 Paris Air Show, AviLease has signed a deal for 10 A350F freighters and 30 A320neo Family aircraft, with an option to expand to 22 and 55, respectively.

AviLease Orders Airbus A350F and A320neo Planes
AviLease’s latest order marks a significant milestone as it builds an Airbus-centered portfolio to support its growing client base.
The deal, revealed at the Paris Air Show, includes 10 A350F widebody freighters and 30 A320neo single-aisle jets, with the potential to scale up to 77 aircraft in total. This initiative supports the company’s vision of offering fuel-efficient, next-generation aircraft solutions across global markets.
CEO Edward O’Byrne emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership, stating the Airbus aircraft will allow AviLease to better serve airline customers in Saudi Arabia and globally.
The agreement also underscores AviLease’s shift toward sustainability and operational efficiency, as both aircraft types represent the latest in low-emission aviation technology.

Airbus A350F: Next-Gen Air Cargo Solution
The A350F freighter stands out with its cutting-edge design, including the largest main deck cargo door in the industry and a fuselage optimized for standard pallets and containers.
Over 70% of the A350F’s airframe is built using advanced materials, making it 46 tonnes lighter at takeoff than competing models. The aircraft also fully complies with ICAO’s 2027 CO₂ emissions regulations.
Derived from the long-range A350-1000, the A350F offers unmatched fleet commonality, sharing 100% of engine spares and tooling with its passenger variant. This simplifies maintenance, reduces inventory requirements, and enhances profitability for operators.

A320neo Family: Fuel-Efficient Single-Aisle Leader
The A320neo is the most ordered single-aisle aircraft globally, with over 9,700 orders to date. Powered by new-generation engines and equipped with Sharklets, the aircraft delivers up to 20% lower fuel consumption per seat compared to previous models.
With a range of up to 3,400 NM and the ability to accommodate up to 194 passengers, the A320neo offers flexibility for both short- and medium-haul operations.
The Airspace cabin design enhances passenger comfort with wider seats, increased personal space, and XL overhead bins. The aircraft is also fully compatible with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), supporting 50% blends today and targeting 100% SAF operations by 2030.

AviLease Orders 20 Trent XWB-97 Engines for A350F
Rolls-Royce (RR) has secured a major engine order from AviLease for 20 Trent XWB-97 engines to power 10 Airbus A350F freighters.
The freighter aircraft, set to be deployed from Saudi Arabia, will mark the first Rolls-Royce-powered cargo aircraft operating in the Kingdom.
AviLease, a Saudi Arabian aircraft lessor, has selected Rolls-Royce’s Trent XWB-97 engines to power its incoming fleet of Airbus A350F freighters. This strategic acquisition supports the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, aimed at transforming Saudi Arabia into a global aviation hub.
The agreement involves 20 engines for 10 freighters, with delivery expected to enhance AviLease’s long-haul cargo capabilities significantly.
The Trent XWB-97 is Rolls-Royce’s most powerful production engine to date. Known for its high reliability, it has logged over three million engine flying hours across various mission profiles. Its versatility in both short- and long-haul applications makes it an optimal solution for global freighter operations.
This engine order marks the first Rolls-Royce-powered freighter to enter operation in Saudi Arabia. Ewen McDonald, Chief Customer Officer at Rolls-Royce, emphasized the significance of the deal, highlighting the role of aviation in global trade and connectivity.
He stated that the Trent XWB-97 benefits from over £1 billion in ongoing investment aimed at extending “time on wing,” a crucial factor for operators seeking fleet planning certainty.
Ted O’Byrne, CEO of AviLease, described the order as a foundational move in positioning the lessor among the global top 10. He praised Rolls-Royce’s technology and partnership, citing their contribution to AviLease’s rapid growth trajectory.
