Programme ‘Active Parent’, which gained popularity in Poland, offers financial support to parents of children aged from years to 3 years. Since its start on June 12, 2024, the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) began to accept applications and the first payments were planned for January 31, 2025. The programme offers 3 different benefits to aid parents combine professional responsibilities with childcare.
Types of benefits under the Active Parent Scheme
Under the programme, parents can benefit from 3 different forms of support:
- Active Parents at Work
- ‘Actively in a nursery’
- “Actively at Home”
Each benefit has its conditions and the amount of payments, but 1 thing is certain – the strategy does not require an income criterion, which makes it available to a wide scope of recipients.
Active Parents at Work
The first form of support is addressed to active parentswho combine work with kid care. Under the benefit ‘active parents at work” you can receive PLN 1500 per month For all child. What is more, if the kid has a bride disability, this amount increases to 1900 PLN per month. This programme continues by yearSo parents can usage the aid for 12 months. It's quite a few support that helps reconcile professional duties with childcare.
‘Actively in a nursery’ benefit
Further benefits introduced under the programme "Active in the nursery“ There is support for parents whose children attend nurseries. This benefit replaced the earlier backing of the child's stay at the nursery. As with “active parents at work”, parents can number on PLN 1500 per month for a child, and for children with a disability, the amount of the benefit increases to 1900 PLN per month.
This program aims to support parents who cannot afford full-time care at home and at the same time want to supply adequate care for the kid in educational institutions.
‘Active at home’ benefit
The last option is provision ‘active at home’which is addressed to parents who do not benefit from the another 2 forms of support. In this case parents can number on 500 PLN per month. This benefit is newbecause it replaces the existing family welfare capitalwhich offered little aid. In addition, it is worth noting that the amount of this benefit is lower than in the case of another options, but it is inactive a form of support for families who do not benefit from nursery or full-time employment.
Who can benefit from the program?
Programme ‘Active Parent’ is available to a wide scope of parents, both Single parentsand parents raising children together. Importantly, benefits under the strategy are not dependent on an income criterion, which means that aid is available to most families regardless of their financial situation. However, as mentioned earlier, for the strategy ‘active parents at work’, the key condition is the professional activity of the parent.
How do I apply?
To benefit from the programme "Active Parent‘, an appropriate application must be submitted to ZUS. Applications shall be accepted from October 1, 2024and payments will begin with January 31, 2025.
