Provisional UN Mission Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported about the fresh Israeli attack on Polish-Irish peacekeepers in the confederate part of the country. WIt appears that the aggressive judaic government recognises the ceasefire and peace talks only as a break in attacking Gaza itself, but not another neighbours.
The Jews attacked despite the ceasefire in Gaza. UNIFIL in his message reported that an Israeli drone dropped a grenade that exploded close 1 of the mission positions in Kafer Kela, somewhat wounding 1 of the Irish peacekeepers. As added in the statement, 2 Israeli drones were spotted flying close the site before the explosion.
"This is the second grenade attack carried out by Israel's defence Forces (IDF) against peacekeepers this month. This represents another serious violation of Resolution 1701 and disregard for the safety of peacekeepers implementing the mandate of the safety Council" informed the UN mission.
UNIFIL reiterated its appeal to the Israeli army to halt attacks on UN peacekeepers or close them due to the fact that "they are working to rebuild the stableness both Israel and Lebanon have committed themselves to."
UNIFIL forces have been active in confederate Lebanon since 1978, and their strength has been importantly reinforced under UN safety Council Resolution 1701 after the 2006 war, between Israel and the Lebanese guerrilla-terrorist group Hezbollah.
Cross-border warfare between Hezbollah and Israeli forces began in October 2023. By September 2024, they became a full-scale war, resulting in over 4000 deaths and 17,000 injuries. A ceasefire was achieved last November, but Israel has been conducting attacks in the confederate part of the country almost daily, claiming that it is destroying Hezbollah.
Israel was to retreat completely from confederate Lebanon at the beginning of that year, but inactive maintains military presence on 5 posts on the Lebanese side of the border. In total, it illegally occupies respective twelve square kilometers.
