“American imperialism masks itself as a pacifist”

The study is based on an interview between justice Andrew Napolitano and Pepe Escobar of November 20, 2025 in Moscow.
Pepe Escobar, 1 of the brightest observers of the global balance of power, spoke to justice Napolitano of Moscow on the night of 20 to 21 November 2025. The conversation covers the main problematic points of our time – Ukraine, Gaza, Syria, Venezuela, Iran – and constantly reveals how American imperialism is present impersonating a “settler”, while in fact it retains or expands control. All quotes come from this conversation and were first written here in Polish for the first time.

1. Ukraine: Does Marco Rubio truly want peace?
"If we look at this ideologically and consider the background – there is no uncertainty that they do not want peace. Neoconservatives as a full do not want peace, as do any sectors of the American ruling class. Europeans as a full – I start with the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, almost all Heads of State and Government, with fewer exceptions specified as Hungary – do not want peace."
Escobar makes it clear: the alleged "28-point peace plan", which is presently circulating in the media, is nothing more than tactical diversion tactics.
"The 28-point plan is fundamentally a diversionary tactic".
Kirill Dmitriev (RDIF chief) is not the authoritative negotiator. The real negotiators of the Kremlin are abroad Minister Lavrow and Putin's abroad Policy Advisor Uszakov. Everything else is simply a side channel, deliberately utilized to play on time – while the Russian army is constantly moving forward.
Escobar makes it clear: the alleged "28-point peace plan", which is presently circulating in the media, is nothing more than a tactical diversion. "The Ukrainian Front is presently falling apart. Russia is widely convinced that the situation can be resolved in the coming months."
At the same time, it becomes increasingly apparent that Kiev has neither people, nor money, nor efficient weapons.
‘They no longer have adequate men, no more young people, no money to pay soldiers and guns, and even in the case of weapons of mass destruction, the interior logic of the battlefield will not change."
According to authoritative data from the Ukrainian army, he escapes:

2024 – 41.950
2025 – 161.461
According to forecasts based on mathematical models, 693.785 people will escape next year – the full Ukrainian army.
2. A immense corruption scandal – the silence of Europe
Escobar talks about the mountain of corruption, which the late revealed scandal with EUR 100 million in the Ukrainian energy sector is just the tip.
"What NABU is investigating for this EUR 100 million is simply a penny and only the tip of the giant iceberg of corruption".
It evokes anecdote circulating in Russia from the very beginning:
"There was a conversation between then abroad Minister Blinken and a highly placed authoritative in Kiev. An authoritative from Kiev said, “We request 30%”. Blinken replied, “Can we leave 20%?”. So somewhere between 20 and 30 percent of the commission.”
If we convert this to at least EUR 90 billion, which the EU itself has given to Kiev, we will inevitably go to Brussels – with this "toxic Medusa" which likes to lie in German (Ursula von der Leyen).
"This explains the absolute silence in Europe about this scandal. They want the scandal to disappear."

3. Gaza: "Peace Plan", which is pure neocolonialism
Concerning the UN safety Council vote on Trump/Witkoff/Kushner/Blair plan for Gaza:
"Russian ambassador to the UN, Nebenzia, said in his speech that the full issue is completely absurd and that Russia is fundamentally against it. However, they abstained from voting – due to the fact that practically the full Sunni arabian planet and the Palestinian/Fatah Authority voted in favour. How could Russia and China vote against Palestinian factions?"
For Escobar, the plan itself is nothing more than continuing Western control with another means.
"This 20-point Trump plan condemns Gaza to neocolonization and permanent business by alleged global forces".
4. Syria: Russia got what she wanted
"Did the Russians betray Syria? No, it's much more complex. They have secured a region of influence in the east Mediterranean. Syria's division now includes the US, Israel, Turkey and Russia in the west, with its bases. This means that nothing happens in Syria without a Russian ‘yes’ or ‘no’.
5. Venezuela and Iran: Red Line
When asked what Russia would do if the US attacked Venezuela, he said:
"They have Venezuela support – Russia, China and Iran send under the table everything Venezuela needs. Everyone in Venezuela knows that."
Regarding Iran:
“Iran said to Russia: “We can do everything ourselves. We welcome your assistance, we welcome defence systems, we welcome everything you send us. But if we are attacked, we will manage ourselves.”
Escobar quoted the high-ranking commander of the muslim Revolutionary defender Corps from the erstwhile day:
"If they give us an excuse, this time we can wipe them off the face of the earth, due to the fact that now there are no borders."
6. Israeli atomic blackmail – credible or not?
Escobar comments on erstwhile CIA agent John Kiriakou's claim that Israel threatened Trump in 2019/2020 with the usage of atomic weapons against Iran unless the United States bombed Iran:
"This would be absolute proof number 1 that they virtually control everything and can do whatever they want erstwhile they want, and get distant with it."
7. Moods in Russia
"When you are in Moscow, you are 1,200 kilometres from the war. In the Far East, in Vladivostok, people keep talking about war. There are military families that are satisfied due to the fact that they have good conditions. There is simply a very extremist nationalist-patriotist faction that criticises the slowness and approach of the SMO. And of course there is simply a tiny Atlantic 5th column, mainly between Petersburg and Moscow, which is entirely against it."
But in general:
"The culture of the debate is rather lively here – in a affirmative sense. This is not an authoritarian strategy in which you cannot freely discuss. On the Russian Internet, you can find various points of view that talk to each another or get offended. There is simply a democratic spirit of discussion there."
Summary
American imperialism has perfected its methods. It is no longer openly occurring as an occupier, but alternatively as a "peace mediator", "a humanitarian worker", "an global guarantor". However, behind the 28-point plans, Gaza's "rebuilding" initiatives and "negotiation offers" lies the same nonsubjective as always: control, spheres of influence, resources – and weakening any country against a single-polar order.
As Escobar concludes:
"They dress up as peacemakers – but this is and remains imperialism".
