Vice president of the country Mohsen Mansouri and State media confirmed the tragic death of Iranian president Ibrahim Raisi. According to authoritative reports, the president was killed in a chopper crash.
The event occurred on Sunday (19.05.2024), erstwhile a presidential convoy consisting of 3 helicopters returned from the beginning ceremony of the dam at the Iranian border with Azerbaijan. The reason for the chopper crash in which Raisi was located is to be weather conditions. On board were besides the Minister of abroad Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian and politician of east Azerbaijan Malik Rahmati. The another 2 helicopters that carried ministers and lower officials reached their destination.
The wreck was found present (20.05.2024). Rescue teams all night fought blizzards and hard terrain to scope the wreckage.
– No sign of life among chopper passengers was detected after the crash site was discovered. – handed over the state tv after uncovering the wreck the head of the Iranian Red Crescent Pirhossein Kolivand. The device was expected to crash on the mountainside and completely burn.
