President Volodymyr Zelenski commented on the fresh breach of Polish airspace by Russian drones, saying clearly:
"I don't think NATO failed. Where NATO is, there is no war.”
However, he stressed that in the face of specified incidents, "strong reactions" are needed. He pointed out that Ukraine does not anticipate the Alliance to act as an armed force, but to be liable and supportive, especially in the area of arms:
"When specified signals appear today, we must react. We're not saying NATO is expected to usage 1 or another weapon. Nobody wants the war to expand, and we are not a NATO member.”
In his opinion, the consequence to Russian aggression should be to equip Ukraine with measures which the Kiev authorities have long called for:
‘Why? due to the fact that drones are flying, and Ukrainians can't shoot them down. And any of these drones are flying into NATO territory. So then let's give Ukrainians a weapon that won't scope drones, but factories where these drones are manufactured. This isn't about NATO. This is about Ukraine.”
